I'm relieved but a bit dubious. If Dame asked out I would expect Joe to say this and just pick up the phone and let any GM that he talks to know that if a leak happens Dame won't be going there... but that's paranoia. There is a possibility that Joe and Dame again agreed that Dame would stay if Joe got some major shit done and if he can't that Joe would get Dame to one of a list of preferred destinations.

I think most likely the next thing we'll hear is news about a trade not involving Dame and that Dame will start the season with us and hopefully we'll be good enough to keep him. I fucking hate the two timelines thing but I hate the idea of losing Dame more.

Dame is a realistic dude, he doesn't want to leave or he would have been gone way before now.

Based on the quote, it means Dame didn't straight ask out. Maybe not at all. It could mean they agreed to see how free agency and the trade market plays out.

Sounds like Cronin shared his vision, got some feedback and Lillard, and the plan is to build around still. If that is the case expect some trades and signings this weekend. Cronin obvious thinks the three rooks aren't ordinary rooks and can contribute now and be part of the rebuild.

I'm waiting for him to come out and say that if Cronin doesn't do anything during free agency that could lead to another other conversation.

It will never be over. Click bait media will continue to beat the drum. Other teams' mouthpieces will continue to stir the pot. Screamin' A will continue to bloviate. Fans will continue to speculate and project their wishes and/or paranoia. It will never be over. That's the sports entertainment world we live in.

You know, guys like Abbott float stuff like this, Shams and the Warriors guy float stuff like the Toradol nonsense, we remember it, but the vast majority of fans don't. The pundits are quickly on to the next story. Stephen A. Smith probably averages several wrong predictions or reports per day. But they got their views and traffic and when they're wrong, it just gets washed away with their next report and the one after that.

The only way it ends is if Joe puts the best team around Dame that Dame has had... I don't know how he does that. It will most likely cost us our first rounders in 2026, 28, and 30 along with pick swaps.

We're about to see if Joe can ever pull off what he says he's going to and if he can't Dame will be traded before the season starts. I bet Dame goes radio silent for a little while at least I hope he does, unless of course it's to say that he's staying here no matter what... that's the only thing I would want to hear from him right now.
