Segura hit .320 last year, led the NL in hits, and is a good defensive player to boot. He was an NL All-Star.
How would you not consider him a star?
He changed his swing before last year though. Last year was no fluke. He had a good year. Hardly a star. Just look at what Arizona gave up for him The year before.
Not interested in anyone else. I still think there is a chance if it is the three-way trade with Philadelphia which clears space for us to absorb both of their bad contracts (Wade and Rondo); I don't think Boston has a way of doing that. Not likely to happen, but there's always a chance.Who else is appealing other than Butler though?
Like what? How can we clear over $50M?Not interested in anyone else. There is some truth to that. Cleveland earlier traded 4 really good prospects for Andrew Miller. But MLB teams cannot trade draft picks so I think it evens out. Most MLB teams have the prospect depth to trade for a star player. Not the case with NBA teams.

Bones Jones, I am so disappointed in you, you have not been clicking on my trade links. I always click on yours! I have posted this one at least twice today.Like what? How can we clear over $50M?
Crabbe, Leonard, Ezeli, and Davis only clear $42M
And somehow we'll get them to trade Butler for only draft picks and cap space? Not happening.

This one has Lopez in it since he has one year more on his contract than Rondo, but
Rondo has about the same salary so that works also. My idea is we get a draft pick from Philly to add to Chicago stash but once they smell we need this three way I doubt they would do that. Of course Chicago would have the option of taking any or all of Napier, Connaughton and Layman, plus probably 4 first round draft picks. If they played Davis and re-established his value, they could trade him for another pick, he has a great contract. This also nets them Okafor. To summarize, we get rid of two expensive almost dead contracts (Wade going downhill fast) for them, give them young Harkless at a very reasonable contract, Okafor, Vonleh, 4 draft picks and any of our other tidbits they might be interested in.
link?
What can we get for 3 first round picks and an expiring contract in Fes?
We also have throw ins on reasonable deals like Noah/Aminu/Ed.
I'm digging this. We finally have some movable assets.
none of those for the 3 picks, not even closeDMC?
Butler?
IS NO ready to move AD?
Not even close to that value.DMC?

Ya, we're looking more in the Ibaka/Millsap kinda range. Really want to shed that AC contract in a deal as well if we can manage it. That way, we can afford to drop big $ on these UFA bigs.none of those for the 3 picks, not even close
Just one correction, and I should have switched the ESPN thing; I actually have Rondo in there instead of Lopez. I don't believe Rondo is tradeable, had too many chances. Wade's production still OK but down and dropping fast on free throws drawn, needs a lot of rest, even allowed not to practice regularly. at 23 million difficult to trade in my opinion, but who knows?Wow, I'll definitely give you credit for the scope of your ambition. It's not often you see 10 player trades.
But there's two gigantic problems here:
1. I don't think Chicago would deal Butler for just draft picks, cap space and Okafor. (The rest of the stuff they're getting, like Davis and Harkless, is inconsequential.)
2. Even if they would, I think you're seriously miscalculating in calling Wade and Lopez "dead contracts." Neither is signed for a long time (2 years for Wade, 3 years for Lopez) and both are still productive. Wade almost has a 20 PER! (PER is not the end-all and be-all, of course, but it also doesn't suggest that Wade is finished.) Lopez is at 15, a solidly average figure. Both players are perfectly tradeable and neither is going to doom the Bulls.
So it boils down to Butler plus two aging but still productive players for draft picks, Okafor, Vonleh, Harkless and Davis. I just can't see how Chicago even considers it.
Denver and Portland really did play colangelo, no other way to explain why Okafor still hasn't been traded. Hahahha.
My "guess" is. The three team trade rumor, probably 76ers, Nuggets and Blazers, was true.
But the Nuggets and Blazers decided they could cut the 76ers out and make a better deal between themselves.
And 76ers are asking way too much for Okafor, and the reason he has not been traded, yet.
He's been in the league for only a year and his stats are not bad at all. His offensive game is quite good, he is a bit of a liability on the defense but still young enough to improve. He was supposed to be #1 in the draft last year and was still talked about as success around this time last year. Suddenly when Embiid came back and showed much more, Okafor is no longer the flavor of the month.Yeah, I'd also guess that the 76ers are asking too much for Okafor. They're probably trying to value him, on the trade market, as a star prospect, even though his play since being drafted speaks to a significantly lower floor and ceiling than he was expected to have going into the draft.
If that's the case, then most likely Nurik was going to go to Philly with Okafor coming to PDX. NO probably decided the difference in cost between Nurik & Okafor wasn't worth it.My "guess" is. The three team trade rumor, probably 76ers, Nuggets and Blazers, was true.

I like a Dame-CJ-ET-Ibaka-Nurk lineup for the next 3 yrs. Gonna be hella expensive tho.
Menage with Portland, Philly and BullsI think we will still be talking with them about Okafor. He will likely end up at Bulls though.
