Merged: |0fficial| Trade Deadline

I don't see it for Brooklyn. It depends on the offer, but if they're dumping their best player they probably want high draft picks and cap space, not average players on average deals.

Maybe we can orchestrate a 3-way deal so that they can get someone like Nerlens Noel? [Edit: I see rotary111 just suggested that too.]

They wanted Crabbe enough to sign him to that ridiculous offer sheet. Let's offer them Crabbe (when we can), plus Meyers, if they want him (one of his better games was the snowed out game make up game) and maybe which ever is higher, our pick or the CLE pick in 2018.

I still like Noel better because of his defense and much younger age, but Lopez would be MUCH better than any other big was have on our roster.

If Dallas stays bad they could blow it up as well, Bogut for a year for some inside presence/rim protection?

Do you think Cuban has the patience to ever "blow it up"? Maybe for one a half a year I guess.

Offense from a big isn't a problem for this team? Really?
I think your underestimating his presence inside. Great locker room guy, at least he must be with the teams he's had to suffer through. Win win for us.

NO. Not really. Cause that isn't what I said...Your putting words in my mouth now. You got me. Of course our bigs are not very offensive minded. We have Dame and CJ.

Offense (not from our bigs) is not our issue. We are scoring just fine and average per game more than the league average. As a matter of fact we are 4th in the league in ppg at 110.6. We are 13th in the league in FG% at 45.4% Why do we need more offence?
We need Defense. That is glaringly obvious. None of our bigs are elite defenders and that's what we are missing. Not an offensive center.

Yeah your right, I reread your post. My bad.

I agree we need a defensive big.

Brook is better defensively than your giving him credit for. The added bonus being his in the paint scoring that makes it easier for everyone else to score.

How far is perimeter scoring going to take us?

Well perimeter to an extent. I think Dame is really getting comfortable taking it to the hole no matter who the opponent is, but I get where your coming from. My concern is IF we bring in a center, he needs to be Defense first. If he has an offensive game great, but the D must be elite to play with the rest of our current roster. Or we need more than just a center.

I hate to say it, but I am starting to warm to the idea of a CJ trade. Put Crabbe in his spot and go get DMC with CJ. If we can do the right trade, maybe even Gay is welcomed on the roster and works out.

Dame/Napier
Crabbe/Turner
Gay/Harkless
DMC/Vonleh
Plums/Ezeli

So trade would be something like this:

Davis/Leonard/CJ/Aminu/Cle 1st.

Could that net DMC and Gay?

Gives them a decent young package to work with as a rebuild/trade options.

That would be a major trade in today's NBA though, where big time trades have become the rarity rather than the norm.

I don't like our size. The line up I have above I think would kill and be a contender. I have no clue if the money would equate though. That's for other gurus around here to figure out and tell me if I have something or if i'm an idiot. lol.

HAHAHA

*Grudgingly moseys on over closer to Nate with hands in pocket and head hanging low*

Trust me. I just wish the team as is would play/be better. I like them all and that might be the first time I've really been able to say that. There isn't a bad guy on this roster. With that said... the goal is a ring, not nice team of the year award.
So yeah... i'm officially converted. lol.

That kanter signing is looking smart right now... okc needs shooters.

Rebounding has never been the issue. He can score and rebound with the best of them. He just doesn't play a lick of defense, and Terry isn't exactly a defensive motivator.
Since it doesn't seem there is anyway to get Anthony Davis, how about Noel and Monroe?

That's possible. Crabbe for Noel and then maybe Aminu/Davis for Monroe?

Dame/Napier
CJ/Turner
Harkless/Layman
Noel/Vonleh
Monroe/Plumlee

Yes, interior D is a need. In the meantime, our guys need to work on their perimeter D.

or Ezeli and Davis; that would save them a lot of money if they decided not to exercise Ezeli's option. Can they really expect much more?

DMC is a beast for sure....but he is a HEADCASE! IMO

Most on here think our culture could straighten him out. If we end up with him I hope their right. All the pressure of the playoffs/Finals he could implode and get kicked out of a game or three. OTOH I guess he could at least get us there.

We are going to make a trade, pretty sure NO matched for the possibility to make a serious move if needed. When all is said and done, it seems like we end up with someone we didn't see coming. I'm glad I don't have to make that call and then answer to this forum.

Crabbe for Noel makes sense for both sides. Then buy low on Ben mclemore.

Starting to obsess unhealthily over getting Brook Lopez. I wonder if Aminu + Vonleh + Leonard would tempt them. They have good young wings in Bojan and RHJ so they wouldn't necessarily demand a SG or something in return.

Main question: do they own their own pick? If so, then they have incentive to trade Lopez to tank.

Otherwise, could Philly absorb Crabbe, trade kicker and all, for Noel? Then what would be needed to work a three way so we end up with Lopez?

The thing is, we can't even look at trading Crabbe until January (?) I think. That's just so far off. He better start playing a lot better, or nobody is going to want that contract.

I'm pretty sure they don't have their pick. Maybe they do, because it was my understanding that they couldn't trade consecutive picks. Either way

Obsess? He's not playing overseas.... what's wrong with you?

They own their pick, but Boston has the right to swap with them (which they of course will), so the Nets have no incentive to tank.

That's right.... I knew it was something like that. It's amazing how much they fucked themselves to acquire Garnet and Pierce.

Okay. That just means we have to work Boston into the complicated trade somehow, and what they trade is their right to swap picks. Good activity to take one's mind off the impending end of civilization.

Can't trade Crabbe to Nets until next summer since he signed their offer sheet and we matched

If I'm Anthony Davis I'm demanding a trade after come this trade deadline.
