Millsap would be really disappointing. I would rather head to the draft with multiple picks and see what unfolds. Drafts can be unpredictable and this one is being hyped early. There's players that will sky up the board out of nowhere and others that will fall. Seems to happen almost every year. Write this year off unless we get a PG or Butler type player. I have more faith in Olshey's drafting ability than I do hoping he can bring in a top free agent.
Thing is players out of the draft won't be true contributes till Dame and CJ are in there 30's.

Trading for Millsap who is 32 might get us into a first round exit, but its going to cost us a lot to get him then we would have to pay him a max this off season to ensure we keep him so we will have a 32 year old is already showing signs of declining a 4/132m+ contract. That is called a desperation move that will get our coach and GM fired before Millsaps contract is up and will hamstring us the entirety of the end of his contract. I haven't even talked about the price which is a reported cost of 3 first and a player which is just insane for him and the only way I could see us doing that is if he was the key piece to winning a championship which of course he isn't. Overpaying for Millsap would be akin to Brooklyn freaking out and trading for KG/PP.

There's no way Millsap can command all three picks.

He's still really good--if Portland were a contender right now, I'd trade the worse two picks for him, Cleveland's and Memphis'. But considering that even if he re-signed with Portland (unlikely) he wouldn't sync up with Portland's time frame to contend (at least two years away, IMO), I'd just pass altogether.

I think the final day will be underwhelming if only because of how much people are expecting a massive trade to happen. If someone like Butler and George doesn't move, it will be seen as disappointment.

From our perspective there could be some movement of rotational pieces but no big move IMO. I think there is a lack of available power forwards and small forwards that would immediately improve us or give us better prospects for the future.

Yeah but to be fair, anyone would sign with Portland.......if it meant more money and not having to back to Utah.

Yeah, it would be fun, for Portland and philly.

I accidentally posted that trade idea with my remembrance of the blazers' toxic offer to Millsap years ago. I think picks would be sent to Indy by Philly and Portland in that ridiculous trade idea.

If we were having the type of season we had last year, then I'd be all aboard the Millsap train. However, we've had our chance(s) this year and it's not happening. Tank, rest, whatever you want to call it and go all in on the draft this year and try to salvage the season come October.

Nah. Try to win.

Bulls are "aggressively" shopping Mirotic. He's a RFA after the season but I still feel like he's tailor made for Stotts.

Mirotic for Ezeli and a second?
Ezili and a bagel. Ezili could very well get a mil to leave. However, he is a bench warming expert.

I don't think they want to give him away for free which this offer effectively is.

I would put money on them not getting anything more than a second for mirotic. He's pretty much just a salary dump at this point. Teams know Chicago will not be re-signing him. It's similar to Harkless in Orlando.

This is amusing in that several years ago before Aldridge left, Chicago fans wanted him desperately but were completely unwilling to include Mirotic in any deal....and he hadn't even played in the NBA yet.

Sounds like one Rudy Fernandez

Brook lopez can be had for 2 firsts?

Only has 1 and 1/2 years on his deal though.

Sure, I'd do that.

You misspelled "Watch Dame and CJ both average 40 a game while Nurkic go for 25/20 every night as we knock them out in the 1st round"
Yeah his spelling sucks. Must be the damn auto correct feature on his phone. ;)
