Merged: KP has to make a trade... its not even a question anymore.

Here's my idea:

Steve Blake, Martell Webster, Jeff Pendergraph and the draft rights to Claver for Marvin Williams, and Jason Collins. Which should work even though Williams is a BYC player because the difference between his rookie scale deal and his 7.5 million contract is negligible enough and the Blazers are 1.4 million under the cap and could absorb the difference.

Atlanta gets salary relief, they get a serviceable backup 3 in Webster, a decent prospect in Victor and a big to replace Collins. The Blazers get a decent flex forward in Williams who can defend and shoot from the perimeter a 7 footer who can fill in spot minutes behind Joel and plays fundamentally sound defense (even if the rest of his game is fucking awful).

Yeah, I'd do it. Opens up minutes for Bayless and Marvin can play the 4 and the three. He's been playing pretty bad to start the season so Atlanta might consider it, although I still doubt it.

dude.. why would a top 5 team in the east trade for our crap.

They'd trade because it's not like Williams is the focal point of their offense and he isn't exactly setting the world afire with his fairly average numbers, and Collins is just an emergency big for them anyway, who barely plays. Secondly the Hawks are way over the cap, even with Joe Johnson's contract expiring at the end of this year this would help them get closer to being under the luxury line which is something the Hawks ownership group has always been congnizant of.

You might be able to sweeten the pot by taking Martell out and subbing in Rudy and Travis. This would give them more salary relief and a more attractive prospect in Fernandez ... especially with the possibility of Johnson leaving in free agency this summer.

I'd have happily done that in the offseason, too. I like Marvin Williams and think he'd be a nice addition. Especially now, since he can swing between 3 and 4.

Make it so.

Regarding Lee, he can be traded. I'm not sure he's BYC though he would be BYC if it were a sign and trade situation. The S&T scenario is something like "KP talks to Lee and they agree to an extension, Knicks sign him to it and trade him to Portland."

85. When can't a player be traded? Can players be given "no-trade" clauses in their contracts?

Without the player's consent when the player is playing under a one-year contract (excluding any option year) and will have Larry Bird or Early Bird rights at the end of the season. This includes first round draft picks following their fourth (option) season, who accept their team's qualifying offer for their fifth season. When the player consents to such a trade, the team loses its Larry Bird/Early Bird rights, and the player is considered a Non-Bird free agent. Note: when there is an option year involved, they can get around this regulation by invoking the option prior to the trade.

This season, I think, we still make the playoffs as a lower seed. That said, I'm willing to trade if I can get a Gerald Wallace, Butler type so long as we keep Aldridge and Roy. I think having Oden out will be good for Aldridge's development potentially, because it will force him to be more of a post presence and to spend some time guarding 5's and the post as a 5.

Roy and Aldridge are still two potential all stars- we're not in horrible shape..

Too bad there's not a Memphis out there to trade (er, gift) us a Gasol right about now.

I really feel Bayless needs to be given the PG keys.
With the state of things, we're not competing this year, so give him some valuable experience/growth court time.
Miller will be a great veteran teacher for him.

Definitely look to move Blake along with Webster, Outlaw for a serviceable C/PF.

Well, there's Memphis. They have another Gasol. Maybe they want to give this one away to make room for Thabeet.

why would a bottom feeder trade for our crap?

and you are calling for a sf?? we have 2 healthy bigs and juwan howard. we need a big. wtf.

for shits and giggles...

cats- they havent been looking to shed money at all for years. look at some of the trades they have made. they picked up jrich, diaw, nazr, radmoanovic, sjax, etc. you are just plain wrong here. if they did move someone id want diaw though.

grizz-there might be something there, although gay sucks. i would think marc gasol would be real nice.

clipps- maybe our best bet, camby and kaman should be avaliable, although camby is expiring so no need to move him.

gs- they have 6 healthy players and they are all sg's...move on.

wizards- who knows, if they ever decide to blow it up, they have a few players who would upgrade the talent here. jamison, butler, miller, etc.

pacers- really? who? they arent trading hibbert soooooo......dunleavy? not sure where you are going with this one.

wolves-you know what, al jefferson might be had, but it would cost rudy at least. and he is zbo without the stripper addiction.

someone who is avaliable for basically free i would say is elton brand. kind of in the same position as Pau was in, he could get dealt and be the final piece.

lma/brand/pryz is alot better than lma/pryz/howard.

Re: KP has to make a trade... its not even a question anymore.

i dont care at this point... we need a trade just alone for the fact webster sucks balls

His FG% is still pretty bad for the season, but Webster's been playing pretty well lately. His D and three point shooting would seem to put him somewhere above "sucks", wouldn't you agree?

I'm not sure how a two month old thread being resurrected helps much? At the time Webster was looking like he was playing himself out of the league, he's certainly turned that around this month, but it's not like I'm ready to declare he's put his inconsistency behind him for good.

yeah wtf i killed this thread forever ago haha

jeeze we still had pryz at that point...

Yeah, Webster's still inconsistent, but I don't think he is even in the ballpark of sucking balls. Is that how you would rate him? How many more losses would the Blazers have with him out this year?

OP gets to post his negative nonsense all over the forum. I'm ok with that, but I do get the chance to try to discuss it with him when his doom and gloom predictions come out sunny.

He is often insulting toward the team and the players. Seems to me that, if a fan wants to blast the players on his team, he ought to be right about it. If he's wrong about it, then it seems pretty consistent that posters might post about it in a Trailblazers forum. I don't think there are any rules regarding the age of threads that get bumped.

Why do you really give a rip if I try to have a conversation with MIXUM about what he writes? If it really bothers you, I can only suggest you use the ignore feature on me, because I plan to try to discuss LOTS of MIX's old comments with him, all season long. Sorry.:dunno:

The question is...how did this retarded thread get started?
