hahaha just knowing that a "Blazers fan" set me up with a pro-Lakers sig would almost be enough to make me wish for it to happen

Haha. I'm a Blazer fan who is not blinded by Laker hatred. I love the game of basketball more than the Blazers.

So if, somehow, it were determined that the Blazers winning a title was bad for the game of basketball (such as making Roy-iso-ball-style play even more prevalent amongst other teams), would you root against the Blazers?

You are blinded by Celtics hatred, though.

To be honest I only hate Pierce, he should have the nickname "Big Baby." If I'm blinded by anything it's probably my bias that the Western conference is 1,000,000,000 times better than the Eastern conference.

Fuck Chokie and his ball hogging.

Oh, and how the fuck does a 7 footer get one rebound in 32 mins?

How is that bad for the game of basketball?

If it became prevalent that owners would send threatening letters to other teams GM's if they signed a former player of theirs, yes, I would root against the Blazers.

Heard that. Indeed, I hope that is brought up during the Celtics practice(s). For once, I'd like a Jackson psych comment to backfire on him.
well like my take in that thread of yours, I don't think it really matters much in what will transpire... but if the Lakers lose game 6 I suppose it is possible that Jackson is publically perceived as even more of an ass then he already is :)

Shoot, just call him a jackal. ;)

btw, even though the FTs were 26-9 Lakers before LA started intentionally fouling, I still think that was the best officiated game of the series.

Well, it's unimaginative and ugly. Better "for instance" might be if we replaced Nate with JVG, and a Blazer title meant a resurgence of '90s Knicks-style clutch-and-grab defense and average leaguewide scoring in the low '90s. Would you root against the Blazers in such a hypothetical scenario?

By the way, this isn't an attempt to challenge your fanhood or anything; I just found the statement you made curious, so I wanted to probe it a little more deeply.

Agreed, but it's not necessarily bad for the game of basketball. I don't think a team could ever win a championship playing an "ISO" offense. Not even if you have Jordan, LeBron, Kobe, or Roy would a team be able to win a championship playing an "ISO offense. And if they did? Then it would be a great thing for the game of basketball because that player would be the greatest ever.

No, I certainly would be all for that. The only thing that would cause me to root against the Blazers is if they did something that would ruin the game of basketball. I rooted for the Blazers in the bad years (when they sucked), I rooted for them when they were the Jail Blazers (cause they were damn good), but I wouldn't root for them if they did something were they were known more for their off the court antics than their on the court play. The Darius Miles letter is the closest I have been to hanging up my Blazers jersey, because they were more concerned about cap space, then they were about their on the court play.

You found my statement, "I love the game of basketball more than the Blazers" curious? If I didn't like Basketball I wouldn't be a Blazers fan.

You can't say that the other way around: "I like the Blazer's but I don't like Basketball"?

It must be the outstanding moral fiber of the Los Angeles Lakers that draws him in.

Last time the Lakers won, Kobe was heaving up bricks and Fisher bailed em out. If it weren't for Fisher, it would've been over tonight.

Be consistent with your criticisms. Fisher is trash, stop.

I don't judge anyone by just one quarter, neither should anyone else.

I've actually seen a few people say exactly that. I've seen even more say they love the Blazers, but hate the NBA. It's not as uncommon as you might think.

I know. I have seen many people on this site say "I love the Blazers but I hate the NBA," and I find it ridiculous. But I'm the type to ignore it and just read the next post and hope there is intelligence in it.

Yes, because dog fighting, smoking weed, strip clubs, and screaming at refs in the parking lot after a loss screams "moral fiber".

On this board? You are an eternal optimist, aren't you? :)

I question the fanhood of any Blazer fan who doesn't hate the Lakers. :pimp:
