Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I barely have been watching the finals as it is. Boston blew their only chance yesterday.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

2 teams I hate playing out a pre-determined farce.

Why would I waste my time?

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

You can always watch it on mute, see if anything crazy happens. ;]

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I really am rooting for the Lakers in this series. Though, if you want a silver lining -- Andrew Bynum requires his knee to be drained every other day :devilwink:

don't worry, I'll be alerted to the score of the game by the dumbasses "woo"ing followed by gun shots either in the air or at people, depending if the L*kers or Celtics win.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

my only comfort if the l*kers win is the destruction the trash laker fans will bestow on the city for all to see.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

Nah, I'm looking forward to it. Boston is going to win.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

haha, LAPD Chief is not allowing people w/o tickets to be near staples.

What a fucking dumbfuck, the E3 convention is going on right now too, as well as a bunch of office workers AND there's an entertainment district. This is only going to make shit worse.

I haven't really been watching, but it's a finals game 7, so I think I have to watch. As for rooting, I'm holding to the fact that Boston has lost the first game after every travel segment, and won every one when they didn't have to travel right beforehand. Therefore, they should win tomorrow, because they will have had two full nights of rest before the game.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

If you have time to watch it and will choose not to watch game 7 then you are not a TRUE BASKETBALL fan.

Simple as that. :)

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

Nut up and watch it. Then after watching those two teams play, you will realize the level the Blazers have to get to and how much work they have to do to get to that level.

Amen brother, and that goes for all 28 teams watching this game.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I'm in the don't give a crap crowd. I'd hate to see KG or Wallace win another ring, and hate to see Kobe win another. So, it a lose-lose for me.

Go Blazers

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I don't watch any game that the Blazers aren't playing in.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

These are the 2 teams I hate the most. I have watched every game and I'm certainly not going to miss the game 7. It is still really good basketball and I find myself rooting for the Celtics. There are just more players on the Lakers I hate.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

Speaking of the playoffs...

Kardashian -- whose sister is married to Lamar Odom -- was out before the big Game 6 match-up yesterday and told us, "The NBA is so rigged, are you kidding me ... it was gonna go to [Game] 7 from like the beginning of the year ... it's all about money."

Ultimately, he was right -- the Lake Show beat the Boston Celtics and forced a Game 7.

For now, Rob can't really prove his theory ... but with at least one former NBA ref recently confessing to all sorts of cheating ... Robert could be on to something.

Lakers about to bring the trophy back where it belongs.

I'm the same way. I'll watch but not interested. When I first got League Pass, I did...but now I just follow the Blazers....and hope the L*kers lose.

Won't watch these finals because I'm pretty sure the L*kers will win, and I personally can't stand to watch that shit. I'll follow on twitter and box scores and if the Celtics have a big huge lead or its super close at crunch time I'll flip it on. Don't think it will even be close. Crowd will be ready...celtics missing Perkins....and Celtics really playing terribly in the finals.

pretty crazy, after the parade last year, they actually took it into the bar that my neighbor owns which is down the street from me....a few of the Laker brass lives in my area (Jerry Buss and PhilJax) and I think they go to the bar at times.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I have only been able to stomach probably 15 minutes total of the first six games, so tommorrow night will probably be the same. Lost most of my enthusiasm for the playoffs when Mauer was reffing last round and am livid that he got two final games.

Cannot root for the Lakers or Boston either.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I cannot WAIT for the game. I love the NBA and when the Blazers get eliminated, I pick another team that I can get behind. If that team loses, I pick another. Bandwagonning? Absolutely. But it either has to do with a player I like (Clyde Drexler, Reggie Miller, Rasheed Wallace, LeBron James), the odds against the team (1994 Nuggets, 2008 Hawks, any team that played MJ's Bulls), the locality of the team (Knicks, Nets since I have a home in NYC), a friend's interest (my partner is from Ohio, one of my best friends is a Celtics fan), and a hatred for another team (Lakers). As you can imagine, The team I root for in the Finals usually loses so it's very sweet when my team wins. Since 1990, the only teams that I have rooted for in the Finals that have won are the 1995 Rockets, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat, and 2008 Celtics. I will be soooooo happy if the Celtics win tomorrow night and as I said, I cannot wait for tip off.

Nice factoid, Platypus. I like it.

Here's mine. Phil struggles with closing out championship series in his first try. He's only 10-5 in title winning games.

hmmm..might actually watch with a Blazers homie out here....either that or might go watch it in a Celtics bar down in Santa Monica.....

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

Come on El...its game 7

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

KingSpeed, your explanation of why you root for other teams in the playoffs is the most rational thing I've ever seen you say, and I agree with it. Repped.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I only like the Blazers. In fact, I might rock a Blazers Beat LA shirt tomorrow if I do go to that celtics bar.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

After additional thought, no matter who wins game 7, it's a win-win for me. If the C's win, then my least favorite team in any sport get their heart ripped out and I'll laugh at their misery. If the Lakers win, I get to see all the bandwagon wannabe gangsta Laker fans burn down that piece of shit city. So yeah - can't wait!

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I just want to say to the people throwing a 5 year old pouty face hissy fit proclaiming how you arent gonna watch a game 7 in the NBA finals....

You arent basketball fans, you are local sports teams fans

Prove me wrong and watch the damn game
