usually i support mixum in his freedom to have his opinion and in some ways i can see the bigger picture of what he was trying to get across but he just communicated it really poorly this time.

why even bring luke into it? the entire blazer community is hurting and suggesting the team has defamed his memory by not winning is pretty piss-poor in my opinion. im sure the team is sad enough and struggling to concentrate on things at hand, im sure if mixum lost a mentor or a legendary figure in his life/workplace he'd turn up to work and give a top notch radio show regardless as if nothing happened. right? yeah, probably not.

the teams result on the court is in no way a failure to remember and celebrate luke. the guy is a legend and was a warrior on the court & there are many people hurting a lot harder than we are and im sure those people would be disgusted by comments like mixums. i feel mix dishonored the emotional state of the community by attempting to compare effort on court and regret and hurt off court and ultimately questioning the teams heart and desire in such a highly emotional situation.

somethings are just better left unsaid. hopefully he learns from this and checks himself in the future. \\

mixum, i support your normal style of posting etc and feel it adds the 'other side of the coin' to a lot of the rose tinted views we have here - BUT, seriously bro - this was a very poor choice of action.

For the record, Mixum is suspended for 7 days, not permanently banned. As of yet.

The 7 day suspension was done so we have a reasonable amount of time to both cool off and to ponder what to do going forward. We let you know about it immediately, and all of the staff who've posted in this thread, including myself, have been completely open about it.

There are a few points people have raised in this thread that I should address.

We are a community, and S2 is here to facilitate that. When ABM goes and scores a meet and greet with the Blazers' GM or you all get together a team for a 3-man hoops tournament, I personally feel that the site has accomplished its ultimate goal.

To that end, many of us know one another in person and people say things (mostly) to one another in posts that are playful, not intended to dig at someone else, inside jokes, and the like. I have no desire to see that squashed.

None of Mixum's past activities had anything to do with the suspension. It was for his posts last night, and to prevent any sort of e-drama type escalation that was sure to follow. I'm not entirely disagreeing with what Ed O wrote. His past activities will determine how long or short (it could be less than 7 days, we have that power!) his suspension or ban will be.

Any decision to ban anyone in this forum will almost never be my own. I've banned maybe 2 posters since you all signed up here, and by request of staff members or the poster himself. One being BenDavis503 for repeated racist remarks and the other papaG at his own request (he wanted his account closed, banning him effectively closed it).

If this place were governed by the 1st amendment, some speech would not be allowed. Shouting fire in a crowded theater and all that. Making threats against the president. Or speech that is considered criminal assault.

I actually find it offensive that the only stance Mixum took was that of team inspiration, not team deflation. These guys played one day after Mo's death. They're on the road, far from home. Almost all of them have a strong tie and/or relationship with Mo. Putting myself in their shoes, I don't know that I could have even gone out there and played that night. I commend the Blazers for being extremely professional, and a special nod of the hat to Nate for keeping his composure and being a leader. I know without question the last thing those guys wanted to do last night was play a basketball game. On the road, much less. It's sad. But to only point out the fact the Blazers were flat, and attack the team when it's obvious they're broken hearted, and down, I think is pretty sick, narrow minded, and EXTREMELY TROLL-ISH.

By stating that he is punching Mr. Lucas in the face you are demonstrating your ignorance.

By insisting that it's only a "play" punch you are demonstrating your ignorance of the way it looks and the way it feels, regardless of the way HCP "meant it" to look. To show Maurice Lucas innocently sitting on the bench while somebody pretends to slug him in the face is a thoughtless and disrespectful gesture when the man has just passed away.
