I say someone tries to act like a dickhead on the internet, and my post gets deleted, but said dickhead calls someone an asshole and dense, and it's still there. Awesome.
Then your post is ignorant.
Ed O.
Because one was done in malice, to provoke a reaction. The other was done because he's a friend and he's mourning a loss. You don't see the difference between the two? Do you think HCP has that as his avatar to cause pain to others? Maybe he doesn't realize that people find it offensive. I'm sure he would change it if he were asked to.
Is it at all possible that MIXUM was actually honoring Lucas by pointing out the apparent lack of effort last night by the team compared to the intensity that Luke was known for during his playing days?
Let me get this straight. HCP has an avatar of him pretending to punch Maurice Lucas, but MIXUM is the one who got banned for being "insensitive." Do I have that right?
All What? All your defending of his actions. He is responsible and he doesn't need anyone's help. Really what is the Point?

That's been the best part of this. Mixum layed into the team because they were playing like pansies, and not like Luke would want them to play in the wake of his passing, and got suspended for it. HCP has a picture of him pretending to punch the recently deceased icon, and that is ok. I personally don't have a problem with either, but the double standard is amazing. People like HCP (I am one of them) and people don't like Mixum.
Would you care to inform the ignorant as to how an avatar portraying a poster as assaulting a recently deceased man is less offensive than a post suggesting that a basketball team's lack of effort was disgraceful? Because HCP knew him? How is that picture portraying friendship? Does this mean that he and Trevor Ariza are buddies too?
I wouldn't go so far as to insult HCP for the picture, but I see where Shooter is coming from. When I saw that avatar, I was a bit taken aback; moreso than when I saw MIXUM's suspension-inducing posts.
In all seriousness, what makes one OK but the other unacceptable?

More BS surrounding a BS troll. wow surprise.
You're an administrator??? And you can't imagine how a picture of Maurice Lucas about to be punched in the face might seem insensitive to some a mere 2 days after his tragic death??
Please don't tell me you're that dense.
There's really no reason to overthink this. HCP knew Lucas and, presumably, his avatar is a picture of the two of them kidding around.
What is the alternative? That he was actually in a fight with Lucas, and the punch just happened to be captured by a third party?
I don't know this for a fact, but I would be shocked if HCP's avatar picture is anything less than a tribute to the man that he knew... a tribute to his sense of humor and the time that they spent together.
For someone to look at that picture and think that HCP is actually punching Lucas... ? That strikes me as utterly ridiculous.
Ed O.
Shouldn't it also be presumed that Mixum was honoring Luke by wanting the team to play harder?
No. MIXUM has no history of honoring anything Blazers-related on this board, while HCP has a history of knowing people related to the Blazers.
Ed O.

I don't give a rat's ass what HCP meant by posting that picture. I don't even pretend to know what goes through HCP's mind most of the time. All I know is that it is in extremely poor taste to post a picture of a man about to get punched in the face when said man has recently passed away. You would think even the most simple-minded poster would realize this. There's really no reason to overthink this. For God's sakes, Ed. You astound me. I never had any doubt that the "punch" was faked, but the very idea of it is offensive. The look of it, the feel of it, even the slightest notion that Lucas might be punched is repulsive--especially in light of the fact that he just passed away. For someone to look at that picture and think that HCP is actually punching Lucas... ? That strikes me as utterly ridiculous.

Also in the interest of full disclosure, the decision to suspend him was mine. We do allow people to be assholes, but we don't allow people to be hurtful, and his posts were just that.

Let's face it, if anyone else said these things, they would not be suspended.

How about the thread MIXUM started that announced Luke's death to the forum that read "Maurice Lucas RIP" "sad"
That's even recent history
Are we sure Denny isn't Vince McMahon?![]()

And of course he said it was "sad." I don't think Mixum's thesaurus has any positive words in it!I wouldn't give too much credit for this. MIXUM always tries to be the first to post bad news for the Blazers.
Go Blazers
