Great piece.

How was the twelve foot hoop fake? And don't even act like Rudy could have dunked on a rim that high. Nor could he do Dwight's third dunk.
And the showmanship IS a huge part for the contest. This isn't like the dunk contests of a decade ago. If you want to win, you have to be entertaining and do something people haven't seen before. Whether you like it or not, it's a fact.
Showmanship has been made of a part of the dunk contest, which is bullshit. I'd rather see guys who make amazing dunks than guys who jump off his teammates back or a guy going into a phone booth for a superman cape.

Howard is 7 feet tall fer fuck sake!!!
No he's not. He's 6'9. I wish people would stop repeating this stupid lie.
Perhaps the lie would quit being repeated if every official site didn't have him listed as a liar.
nba.com
espn.com
orlandomagic.com
lieopedia.com
All have him at 6-11.
I think we're all aware heights and weights are all exaggerated... But to assume the entire world is going to call him 6-9 when every place on the planet lists him as 6-11 is a bit much.

I've never had the opportunity to measure him myself, so I'm going to have to stick with what I'm told by people who have.
Then why do you call him 7 foot, when you admit that his "6-11" is likely exaggerated?

I'm sure if Rudy was 6'11" he could of dunked on that raised hoop.

Is this an NBA board or an OCD help clinic?
Jesus Christ, it's not that big of a deal.
and how old was howard then? is it really inconceivable that he could have grown an inch or two?http://www.draftexpress.com/nba-pre...age=&year=2004&sort2=DESC&draft=0&pos=0&sort=

Hey, I'm on your side in this whole thing, your post just got me curious enough to look it up.

Dwight is a seven footer.
And you guys are ridiculous. I'm not even going to debate a bunch of Blazer homers.![]()
Dwight is a seven footer.
Aren't you a Magic homer?

I've covered the Orlando Magic for the past four seasons and I've seen him grow from the 6'10-6'11 he was when he entered the league to 7'0-7'0.5. I've met the guy and interviewed him close to thirty times since he entered the league. There's your source.
