There is far too much flopping in soccer for me to take it seriously. Algerian player gets slightly kicked in his shins and he falls down and acts likes he's in pain. Does he think we all forgot he has shinguards on? USA player gets slightly pushed in the back and he falls down like he got tackled by Brian Urlacher. These sissy's make Manu Ginobli look like a bad ass.

Congrats to England and the U.S.

I'm glad the U.S. finally got a goal that stood, it would have been unfortunate not to advance due to legit goals being taken away in two straight games.

Why the F was that bar in Seattle featured by ESPN so damn much.

USA always deserved to advance so I don't really see the surprise. If you had to say which team played better in Group C throughout the group stages, you'd say USA.

Certainly wouldn't be England with their shite play.

Netherlands dammit!

and for the record I do want the US to do well, the better they do, the bigger the beautiful game becomes around here. Which can only be good in the long run for the quality of our leagues. The bigger it gets here, the more $$$. The more $$$ the higher quality talent can be attracted here on a club level. The more $$$ and popularity, the more kids keep playing it. The more kids keep playing it the more go through Youth Academies... need I keep going? :)

Thats the only reason i wanted them to win...not a US supporter, but i would like to see the sport get bigger and bigger in the US

Lol i was seriously rooting against them until the 80' min, then i was like fuck it, go USA

At work watching with like 50 people, had to root for them

Just wait til they start setting matches with Penaltys, your head will explode.

Why are some of you (that live in the U.S.) not supporting the Americans? Too cool for that? Whatever.

Fuck the Algerians. They are twats. I did not like them.

And I was literally 2 minutes away from giving up on soccer all together today. FIFA seems corrupt as fuck to me. We've had more disallowed goals than goals scored by the Algerians for the whole tournament. The refs did every thing they could to rape the Americans over the course of the first three games. Doesn't feel right to me. At all. Had we not won today I was giving up on soccer forever. I have enough corrupt bullshit to put up with following the NBA and the Blazers. I don't need this additional heart ache and anger. But as it stands, I'm still on board. That was a fun game. Stressful. Irritating. But fun. Very proud of team USA's resilience. If these refs weren't such douche bags the American's would have run away with this group. They have played the best.
