According to another thread, Hedo meets with Nate today, and visits Portland on Thursday. That actually dovetails nicely with your timeline. If he doesn't sign Friday, he is probably using us to drive up Detroit's bid.

He's not predicting when he'd be signed.

Memphis is going to be a pain in Portland's ass. If they did indeed call Turk's agent, they have cap space and could drive the price up. I really hope we're being conservative with our initial offer.

If Chris Wallace wants to pay him more per year, I'd say let them. Turk can disappear into obscurity if he wants to. I don't think Memphis is any threat to sign any one of note.

I like it, although Detroit could potentially offer him more. I think Hedo would fit in great for us on the offensive end and as others have pointed out, Hedo does seem to be a little underrated by some defensively. He's no Artest, but he's no Outlaw either. High IQ, great passer, like it. Very surprised that I'm reading 50$ million over 5 years, but it's probably the only way to compete with Detroit and it's not my money.

There is a decent chance Webster won't ever play again. I don't think Portland can make plans that involve Webster being a contributing factor.

Blazers, Turkoglu schedule meetings

Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan is flying to Orlando Wednesday to have dinner with free agent Hedo Turkoglu.

Turkoglu is then expected in Oregon on Thursday for a tour of the Blazers' facilities and meetings with Portland management. All signs are currently pointing to Turkoglu signing with the Blazers, but it is still far from a done deal. Jul. 1 - 12:48 pm et

Memphis scaring us off could be a good thing.. I like Hedo and we need a scorer.. I just didnt realize how low is shooting percentages were. I think we'd be ok with a 16 ppg scorer though especially with a PG like Hinrich.

Exactly. We don't need to match any offer from Memphis. Playing in Portland > Playing in Memphis. Hedo should be compensated more to piss away his playing days in Memphis.
