When asked what he thought of Oden, Shaq responded:

"I don't. I'm a Shogun. You can't ask me about a low level ninja. I worry about Yao Ming, Dwight Howard."

I can't bring myself to hate Shaq, and i'm going to miss him when he retires.

He has a point that Ming, Howard and Shaq are together at their own level, and then all other Cs are below them. But I think he definitely likes to get those shots in there on Gregory (while he still can :lol:).

In another interview Shaq said

When it comes to rating NBA big men, O'Neal has his own share of opinions. Here's what he had to say:

Greg Oden, Portland -- "Young guy, who looks pretty athletic. He's just have to get a go-to move, a shot he can rely on. Give him some time and he should be a great center."

Right now Shaq can do whatever he wants to Oden because Oden is young and doesn't know how to play the best defense yet. He also doesn;t really worry about having to guard him. He is not a dick, he is honest.

I don't think it's a big deal at all. So he's 'worried' about the top two centers in the league and then isn't 'worried' about a rookie who is no where near that level...what's so shocking about that?

Shaq went from my favorite player to my most hated after he signed with the L*kers. Now that he's not a L*ker, I can't really hate him. He's pretty accurate though, its not like Greg is a dominant center right now in the league.

Not really a big deal.

It was fun watching Oden and Shaq match up last night. That drop step dunk Shaq pulled off must've opened Oden's eyes a little. The only guys Oden has ever played as big as him were limited offensive players like Przybilla. You can't really blame him for being overmatched by a motivated Shaq.

I wish Shaq were a few years younger and Oden were a few years older. It'd be fun to see these guys go at it at full strength for a few seasons.

I did like the one play where Shaq tried to take it at Oden and Shaq traveled with the ball.

Shaq traveled because Greg was actually strong enough to standup Shaq like nobody else can. Usually Shaq knocks the other player back so he doesn't stumble. When he went at Greg, this time, it was Shaq that got knocked a bit and stumbled. :clap:

I don't think this is a big deal, but I'm pretty fucking fed up with him throwing the ball at Joel every fucking game. Just show your opponent the smallest amount of respect you dick.

I agree the Shaq Oden matchup would have been a great one if they were the same generation. Like Sabas/Shaq would have been. Maybe next year we'll get a glimpse if both can stay healthy and Shaq wants to play. The combination of size, power and quickness they both have is a rare thing.

Shaq's drop step dunk should have opened the refs eyes last night. That was a walk. I guess Shaq's godfather status means he gets to switch pivot feet to teach the young fella a lesson.

Shaq shot straight from the cuff. Always good for a great quote, Shaq commented about his exchange with Blazers center Joel Przybilla – with both drawing double-technical fouls in the second quarter after Przybilla confronted Shaq about throwing a ball in his face during a foul call- and of course, Greg Oden:

"No," Shaq said when asked if he could share about his conversation with Przybilla that landed them both T's.

"He said I threw the ball at him and I said, yeah. That's what I did. So what? Do something about it. I'm not much of a talker."

When asked if he could receive a fine for admitting he "threw the ball" at Przybilla, Shaq quickly corrected himself.

"I didn't throw it. I dropped it. Hey, it doesn't matter to me - whatever they do. It's been done before. You move on. I just dropped it. He was in the way. If he wouldn't have flopped and been on the floor, he wouldn't have been down there."

You don't like the floppers do you, asked one reporter.

"No. It just shows you are giving in. The referees are probably going to go for that every time. You've got to now (flop). It's the only way you can stop a person. It's kind of crazy the refs go for that."

Shaq strikes again! Lol, 1st it was SVG/Dwight & the Magic.....now it looks like the Oden/Prybilla & Blazers are his next victim... :lol:

I don't disagree with Shaq's assessment of Greg's game right now, but dude is a major dick. Throwing the ball in Joel's face after being called for a charge is the latest example of it. Shaq Fu sure did tuck his tail/back down when Joel got in his face right afterwords didn't he? It's bad enough to lose on national TV... no need to literally get your ass kicked too

I enjoy watching him lose

I thought it was funny. I think Shaq has a secret crush on Pryzbilla as well. :biglaugh: The shot of Pryz getting in Shaqs grill last night was priceless.

Shaq is like the British queen. He is royalty. You can't question it, you have to acknowledge it. But, other than the tabloids - he is irrelevant. He is a ceremonial figure head - but he does not make any meaningful decisions.

Love him and his entertainment value - and he is still a very skilled offensive player - but he is a negative image of Oden now. All offense - no defense. Greg is all defense and very little offense (or at least, intentional offense).

All hail the queen.

I don't know how he did it, but Joel is completely in Shaq's head. As for GO, you know Shaq's thing--when he's gracious, he doesn't think you're a threat. When he's a jerk, he's concerned.

Of course, last night pretty much put the Suns out of contention, so he doesn't need to be concerned about us until next year. :ghoti:

Maybe his view will change when he has time to watch Oden in the playoffs. Hey Shaq please get your fishing gear ready because your going to be on the first boat out of port.

Yeah he can talk talk talk all the way to an early vacation. Everyone has the right to talk, but he's still a dickhead. Most players have what we refer to as "class" when talking about other players. But if makes grandfather Shaq feel better about himself, then yay for him.

I wouldn't get upset over this. Shaq is known for "dissing" opponents: Phil Jackson, Dampier, Kobe, Howard, Vlade Divac, Bynum, Bosh, etc. It's what makes Shaq, Shaq.

I'm not sure how you can get TOO upset about this, considering his ridiculous (but hilarious) extended metaphor of feudal Japan. Shogun versus ninja? Sounds like a blockbuster kung-fu action movie to me! (It also sounds like the kind of movie where the lowly ninja takes down the mighty shogun at the end, for what it's worth...)

Shaq is a dick, and always has been a dick. If you saw the game last night, where they showed the play last year where Shaq fell forward, shoving the ball into Joel's face, pounding Joel's head to the floor....that removes all doubt he's a dick.

Shaq seems so cool off the court, but such an ass on the court..hard to respect someone so hypocritical.
