Aminu sucks and his defense is average.
Average defense is a blessing sometimes; and if he's the 5th option, he won't be shooting much at all.

Nurkic liked CJs tweet, so you can pretty much consider this a done deal.
It may. If they know he's leaving, like we knew Aldridge was leaving, sure. Then again, it's 5 role players, so it may not be enough?Would crabbe, harkless, and all our picks get their attention? If we also took on a bad contract like ellis or Jefferson?
Edit: George and Ellis/Jefferson for Crabbe and Harkless works financially.

Middle Class Man's Kyle Korver with Slightly Better Defense isn't a bad chip to put in the pot.Crabbe would start in Indiana, so his contract wouldn't look bad. He's also the best player we have to offer outside of the big three.
Only way we get George is if Indy is convinced he's bolting and they don't want to lose him for nothing. We've seen such players be gotten for scraps plenty of times.
It would take a combo of 1st round picks and decent contracts. Ed Davis, Ezeli, Aminu, Harkless.... I HIGHLY doubt they'll be taking on crabbe or turner or leonard.
Also, you've got to take into account that should we get George, AND resign him to the max, you're talking 4 max players PLUS turner/crabbe/leonard......luxury tax hell.
Maybe Paul wouldn't mind with that kind of talent. But it would just go to prove me right, that you don't want to overload your team with bad contracts, because you never know what might happen.
I don't see how that works out either. In 2018/19, Dame will make almost $28,000,000. CJ will be near $26, 000,000 and Nurkic would be in the first year of a contract you would imagine would be around at least $20,000,000. Add what George would be in line for in that season and it's probably more than Dame at around $30,000,000.
That's $104,000,000 on 4 players. They would need almost the entire rest of the roster to be on Rookie scale or Veteran minimum contracts if that were the case. Now you might be able to finally get some of those veterans to come to Portland to play with that lineup with the idea of having a real shot to win.
right? DMC anyone?
I know you take wins when you can but this is the reason I think it makes sense for us to wait to go all-in for two years from now. At that point GS is going to have to most likely break up their team because of financial reasons. Of course I wouldn't turn down PG or JB for scraps before then but we do need to do the best we can to keep our salaries in check. Especially with rumors that the cap could actually go down in two years. It is also hard to stay patient though. I understand that.I absolutely get what you are saying but that makes me wonder about the Warriors. People talk about a 4-5 year run of dominance but Steph is going to get a $25 million RAISE to a salary of $36 million and then Durant is a free agent after next year. They are soooooo lucky that their other All-NBA players make less than Allen Crabbe because of great timing on old style contracts. But seriously if the salary cap was $94 million this year and they were at $107 million then how are they going to do it next year much less the year after with Durant?

Agreed. And if he does walk? So what, we gave it a shot and it'll be a fun year. I'm getting too old to bake cakes.Btw I think people are putting to much into this George to LA stuff. Yes he grew up in LA, but he also wants to win. Lakers still don't have any foundational pieces to build around. Their best player is fucking Julius Randle. If we somehow found a way to land George without giving up our big three, he wouldn't turn down contending for a ring and a bigger contract just so he can go play in his hometown and dap magic johnson. These guys are competitors, not make a wish kids.
A good example: Derozan.
Now I know why Larry Legend stepped down.Nurkic liked CJs tweet, so you can pretty much consider this a done deal.
Yeah, baby. I could like this post all night long.So I guess we want the Lakers to land outside the top 3 in the lottery right? They'd lose their 2019 pick too. They'd be baaaad for a long time......
Whenever I see trade ideas like that I always wonder: what in the heck is the other team going to do with 5 (4) new players? Then again, the Blazers sent out 5 for 1 once upon a time, so who knows. It may. If they know he's leaving, like we knew Aldridge was leaving, sure. Then again, it's 5 role players, so it may not be enough?
Reading is fundamental! There is a fundamental flaw with this tweet....
Reading is fundamental!
Pritchard said he and star forward Paul George sat down during an exit interview "for 45 minutes or an hour" last week.
"We talked about a lot of different things. In every scenario he talked about being here. That’s important," Pritchard said. "He wants to win. Picking up Lance late in the year made us a better team and got us into the playoffs. We want to win. We want successful teams year in and year out, and that has to do with Paul. He wants to win, the Pacers want to win, we’re on the same page.”
Whoosh!!!It sure is, though that isnt the fundamental skill required to tweet correctly in this instance. Its knowledge of the Blazer's roster, of which does not have one said Paul George on the team. Pretty sure he meant Pacers. Not Blazers...
Do they not have an edit on Twitter? Dude didn't fix that?????
Uggh. So hard to find quality sports journalists anymore....
And I will say this and probably get some hate, but so far this year, I have really liked Quick. I think he has been fair and balanced for the most part and I think.. .as much as we can expect from any journalist, he cares about the teams success and wants the team to do well.
I do not know him from years past and maybe that is the best, but I like that he is a slow talker who seems to think about what he is saying and values choosing the right words/statements.
