That's intriguing that he brought up Portland and Cleveland as the two places that could sway PG to stay.
Woj mentioned Boston, FWIW

Well yeah, that's obvious but I don't think Boston will go after George. I think they're saving picks for Anthony Davis.Woj mentioned Boston, FWIW
Don't see why they wouldnt just wait for free agency and try to grab hayward for free anyways.Well yeah, that's obvious but I don't think Boston will go after George. I think they're saving picks for Anthony Davis.
if you really want to read into it.....he mentioned Portland firstThat's intriguing that he brought up Portland and Cleveland as the two places that could sway PG to stay.

If we got PG for #20, #26, and Crabbe, what do we do after that?
Do we trade #15, a 2019, and Harkless for a good PF? Who would we target?
Maybe a sign and trade with Harkless, Leonard, Aminu, and a 2018 1st for Millsap?

That's why I said sign and trade haha.Ibaka or Millsap would be perfect, but they're both free agents.
Dame
CJ
George
Millsap
Nurk
Exactly.I just don't really get why we wouldnt be in it to get PG. You've got unbiased national media saying our offers would be the best, make most sense. You've got Dame and CJ on multiple occasions saying they want PG. Why not roll the dice? by the time these draft picks are ready to really produce, you'll be worrying about whether to give a 31 year old lillard a 300M dollar contract

Dame/PG/CJ/Nurk >>> (Younger) Dame/LaMarshmallow/Injured Wes/Rolo
Keep Harkless and give them Aminu and call it good. PG replaces Crabbe, Young replaces Aminu, and we sign a backup C as an upgrade over Meyers.PG + Young for #15, #20, Crabbe, Harkless, and Biebs.
My needle is tingling in anticipation.
Lmao.Emphasis on needle to make it look bigger.
Just trying to help a brother out.

Olshey just needs to whore himself out for an all-star already. That would really get my needle going.Olshey is a needle-tease.

Haha. Of course, Batum. I was writing that then got interrupted and when I got back an hour later I just hit send.FWIW Batum would be mentioned before Rolo. Also, you have to count the time before Wes was injured since only then were we contenders.

Don't expect national writers to understand how good Nurkic was for us. He's the X-Factor, but didn't have enough of a sample size for national guys to catch on to the transformation the team had with him in the middle.Just listened to the podcast and Lowe did not seem convinced at all that Portland would be able to convince George to re-sign. Arnovitz did, but he has a soft spot for the Blazers.

If we got PG, it wouldn't be our last move. We'd move all-in to try to win and get him to stay. A sign-and-trade with Millsap or Ibaka would be very possible. A trade for Love would be possible. We'd put more around him.
Can't tell if it'd be enough to keep him or if we'd be able to add that PF to complete a studly starting lineup, but I wouldn't expect national writers to be confident in our chance to keep him because it's national writers..
A reporter is saying that Paul George's camp are making it clear that George is just a rental. Well. Welcome to the Lamarcus Aldridge situation 2.0, Pacer fans.
The worst case scenario is 3 draft picks which is still better than the last 2 offseasons so the only way I'll be disappointed is if he trades those picks for shitty value. You are setting yourself up to be dissapointed IMO.
I remember the excitement this time last year. Then....Evan Turner. Never again.
At least they'll get a gift basket.
