Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

I'm guessing the panty find was the highlight of your evening, right?

You underrate the site of a bunch of men with their mascara running down their cheeks.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

1. A Phil Jackson type throne is not going to prevent him from bending his knee. 2. Having him stand would just be a horrible idea especially if a loose ball comes his way and guys go after it and run into him because he can't move out of the way. 3. Off with Joel's head.

The pf is a little larger than you think it is. There are places he could stand.

Also a PJ throne means he can sit and get up easier when his knee hurts. He just can't sit for long periods of time and it's very difficult for him to get up in the limited area behind the bench at the RG.

Just sitting next to Camby when they review game film can be more helpful than being in Indiana.

Camby: "You see when _______ drops his foot and then pump fakes like that? As soon as you see that you know he's going to try and go left. Just step back and wait to block the shot. He never looks to pass. "

Oden: "Thanks, I would just play him tight and he'd run right into me. The refs called me for the foul every time."

Camby "Yeah Nate tried to tell me just to stand there too but Nate is like a pitbull. He loves contact. Wants to draw fouls. I don't like those idiots running into me and flopping themselves into my knees. Once you pick up the signs you'll know when to back off and go for the block or rebound.

Oden: "Thanks! Glad I came to practice today! Solid!"

Camby: "Solid!"

or Oden can watch pixelated pirated streaming Blazer games in Indiana....

Or, he can text friends for updates, since that seems to be what is happening right now, and maybe catch a highlight on SportsCenter in between games of MOW.

A possibility. I'd prefer if he was watching they'd just have some type of lounge chair he could stretch his left leg out on, which is what he does in the locker room I believe on a trainer's table as well as what I imagine he does at home.

When he comes back and attends playoff games and such I imagine he'll be reviewing game film with the team, and maybe he could speak with Camby then.

I still demand Joel outrage, though.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

I feel like I heard recently that he can't sit on the bench for too long because of his knee, and that he watches some from elsewhere. I also recall him saying he was going to start traveling with the team again soon.

As a few others mentioned, I don't care a ton...What I care about is how he comes in next year.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

I hope Greg is doing what's best for Greg. That being said, if it was me, I sure as FUCK would be in Portland, watching every game and living and dying with each play. WWKDD? He'd be in Portland.

Of course your entire made up scenario is based on the rather huge assumption that Camby is a good teacher, and that Greg can learn these sorts of things from just merely being told instead of actually doing said techniques in practice...

He would be starting?

G.O. said:
I was talking about that yesterday with my uncle. He was giving me some little pointers. You know, Greg, If you can get that little nice jumpshot close to the rim. Not as far as LaMarcus's but get a nice touch jumpshot around the rim. That's something that would definitely help your game. That's something I want -- a nice touch jumpshot around the basket.
Say what? Unless his uncle is Willis Reed or John Thompson or Ewing or Hakeem or somebody, I'd like to know why his uncle's opinion is more valuable than the Blazers coaches? Shouldn't his coaches be, you know, coaching him on what moves he should work on? :dunno:

I laughed at the part about not being able to get Blazers games on DirectTV in Indiana. Greg, you can't get Portland Trail Blazers games on DirectTV in Portland Oregon. But in Indiana, yes you can. Go figure? :dunno:

As far as resting up a bit in Indiana, it sounds like that is what he's supposed to be doing. It has been reported repeatedly that he cannot sit behind the bench during games because of his knee anyway. I hope he gets back soon and spends as much time with the team as possible during the playoffs, but taking a 'break' (couldn't resist) sounds like part of his rehab.

Cheers.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

now cue the oden excuses....

sadly no matter how many wanna be honest... greg is not that into basketball. he wants to get stoned, meet girls, and wake up at 3 in the afternoon on his moms couch. hey ODEN apologists.... chew on this little gem below

Are you watching game film when you're at home?

I don't have the game film. Not out here. I do watch the games. But, you know, my mom has DirecTV. And out here I can't get the games. A lot of times I try to get on the computer, get the text messages to my phone, the score updates, I'm asking some people, calling some people who are actually watching the game, you know, what's going on. It's difficult out here, my friends are like, the games are so late out here, plus DirecTV doesn't get those channels, it's tough. I'll find a way to watch it.

This is so wrong on so many levels. the games are on late? hey greg, if you can get a signal from direct tv... you can get league pass. what a lazy unmotivated POS.

he really cares... about his friends.

After a night to let the above quote about Direct TV settle in, I'm even more frustrated with Greg this morning. At least watch the fucking games, Greg. The lack of TV excuse is laughable. Every fucking player worth a shit has League Pass. I'm positive of that. You think Kevin Durant doesn't watch OTHER games, let alone his own games multiple times to find out what teams are doing?

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

Gee, given the spirit of this thread, I have no idea why Oden wouldn't want to be out of this fucking ridiculous fishbowl.:dunno:

I'm a HUGE Oden supporter. Sorry if I won't polish his considerable knob after reading this "I can't get the games" line of bullshit.

OT: League Pass Available on Direct TV

Mike Rice, I know you're reading this board. Please let Greg Oden know that he can get the games in Indianapolis if he signs up for the League Pass option. Apparently he isn't aware that he can do this. Consider this a service to the Blazers.

kthnx!

Re: OT: League Pass Available on Direct TV

"Where do you see this team in 3 years?"

"I would like to see us winning a championship. Definitely being one of those championship contending teams. Three years from now, you can't really tell what's going to happen but I would definitely like to be with the Blazers. I want us holding that trophy around."

All I care about. Drama Queens.

Re: OT: League Pass Available on Direct TV

Mike Rice, I know you're reading this board. Leave Greg Oden alone. Let him relax and don't pester him just to make the posters in here feel better.

kthnx!

where's my $20?

Sometimes the best support you can give someone is to leave them alone. Who the fuck cares if he sees our games?

Are you 13 you fucking weirdo?

"I BET KEVIN DURANT WATCHES ALL THE GAMES!!!!!!"

Fer FUCKS sake.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

Alot being made out of just a few comments.

It did not say how long he had been in Indiana. He would have no excuse if this were his third month at home. As others have noted in this thread and the "GO on the go" spots the Blazers have ran, he has still been in the Portland area this season. Greg spent his entire rookie season here watching tape and practices. It did not seem like it did anything for his performance on the court last year.

Greg is up for a contract this coming offseason. The choice for him to spend time at home was probably also those of the coaching staff. If they thought the best thing was for him to be here, he would probably be here in order to ease contract negotiations.

I actually don't think this criticism is ridiculous. To me this is just another piece of evidence pointing to the idea that perhaps Greg just doesn't love the game, or want it as bad as some other fiery, competitive players.

I have nothing to back it up, but I can only imagine that if Durant was injured, he would likely be at the games, and if not, he would be watching the games and film trying to get better.

I love GO, and I'm still glad we picked him over Durant. But I do worry that he might be lacking some of that desire and killer instinct.
