Re: OT: League Pass Available on Direct TV

He seems to be getting LeagueRefAssistance as well - which really helps with LeagueScore.

I've never really cared for LeagueRefAssistance, it's too subjective and I hear it's secretly controlled by David Stern.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

I guess where we differ is over whether going to Indiana for a week or two or not watching the games is an "action" that speaks to lack of desire.

Actually, this is important to me. If it is or has been just a couple weeks, then this is all a moot point to me.

I don't know for certain, just going off what some other posters were saying, that he went to Indiana for a couple of weeks to spend time with family. I assumed this was something being reported on Portland radio or somesuch, as there was no article link in the OP.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

Where did I call you any name other than ABM? I disagreed with your thread last night, and I thought the thread was stupid, but I certainly did not call you any derogatory names, did I? If so, please point it out, and I'll apologize.

...

Enough with the common sense. This ABM clown is on a rollercoaster roll right now against Roy!

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

Oh, I'm sorry, ABM! I said I'd apologize. Thanks for your fact-checking. You have provided an invaluable service to mankind today, good sir. I will refrain from such outbursts in the future.

Who is sensitive??? I'm not sensitive!!! Why do you think I'm sensitive??? Please don't think I'm sensitive!!! Do you still think I'm sensitive???

We should have drafted Michael Jordan instead of Greg Oden!

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

1) he has been here rehabbing for several months
2) he is just gone for a week or two
3) he was told by his doctors to take it easy and rest his knee for a while
4) he will be back for the playoffs or earlier
5) most of the games that he has missed he would have missed anyway since they were road games
6) so he did not think ahead of time about asking his mom to gets league pass. Now he has missed some games and said he will figure out how to watch. That might mean going to a friends or getting league pass. He just was not able to watch a couple games.
7) Joel has been gone for a lot longer with no complaints till this thread. Players often take time away when they are injured for extended periods of time.
Please stop being sane. You are interfering with the thread. Thanx.

I really don't get the drama here.

Back when the Blazers made their choice, it was common knowledge that KD was gym rat - the kind of kid who lives for basketball. That was never Oden's personality. He was still a dominant college center, and the team still thought he was the right guy, for a variety of sound reasons. Personality isn't really the issue here - durability is. If the trip to Indy doesn't interfere with his rehab, it isn't that important.

Now, if Oden isn't around for the play-offs, then I will be more concerned.

Re: Why is Oden in Indiana?

You underrate the site of a bunch of men with their mascara running down their cheeks.

I've never even heard of gay mascara fetish websites, much less seen any ratings.

Oden said:
Yeah, yeah, exactly. After awhile I have to put my foot up just so I can let it, just, air out I guess. It gets really uncomfortable holding it down and having it bent for long periods of time.

You gotta air it out, especially when you've got a foot. Or 13".

GO is still in Indy.

Oden is gone with Blazer management’s blessing. The thinking was, when he is around his teammates and not playing, Oden takes it hard. He is better off being at a distance from all the action.

smh

Safe to say, he doesn't hold a candle to Brandon in the heart department.

Oh, and Joel is back in PDX. He was apparently seen at Dorenbecher for a community service even last week.

There was a time when people challenged Roy's heart as well, just sayin. I don't know if Greg being in Indy says much about his heart as it does his mind. Greg Oden has demonstrated a certain level of mental fragility thus far in his career. He is an interesting dude, kinda eccentric really. The jury is clearly still out of Oden, but I am more than willing to give him more time to show what he is all about, and I will always remember how hard he worked to come back after MF surgery. It has to be pretty tough to go through major rehab only to have to go through it all over again the next year.

Being part of a team is putting others before yourself, I'm disappointed in Oden's decision.

Well, the good news is that the games have been on national TV, so at least he can watch them now. Although if they can't pony-up the money for league pass, I doubt they have NBAtv.

smh

Rule #1 of the Blazers Playoff Fight Club -

There is no mentioning of who doesn't show up to the Blazers Playoff Fight Club.

Blazers fans, always looking on the dark side :ghoti:

Especially after perhaps one of the most special games in franchise history. :dunno:

Kobe Bryant has made a nice career for himself without being a back-slapper for his teammates. (Back-slapping female hotel clerks? No comment.)

I don't care whether Oden is with his teammates, likes them, cares about them, etc. As long as he stays healthy, plays well and plays within the team concept, that's all I care about. If he ignores his teammates otherwise, that's his call.

Wouldn't it have been nice for Oden to have experienced in person one of the most special games in franchise history? To have witnessed the crowd and his teammates going bat shit crazy when Roy returned?

There are very few in here that still don't love Oden and wish the best for him. I just think that many of us are puzzled by his decision not to be here.

Maybe he has been reading this forum and just assumed there was no reason at all to attend the game to see a lazy LMA and an idiotic coach that has no understanding of how to win.

You forgot about the GM who will never be able to make a trade to help Oden become a champion, and also the lack of ball movement in Game 4 with Roy coming back. Why would Oden want to be a part of any of that?

He totally lost heart when Outlaw and Blake were traded. How can he play for the Blazer when their two franchise players got traded for nothing?
