Holy shit, right? Leonard is shooting 100% from the field, 100% from the 3 point line, and 100% from the freethrow line. I wonder how long he can keep this up. What's the record?

Really? Shit, I didn't know that. I'd love to see him get some more real game time to see if the D and rebounding has improved.

Although I want to see him, I am so enjoying our other bigs right now, I'm in no rush to see Meyers get playing time. But it's nice to know players on the bench are ready to step up.

Well, that's the thing. The way Kaman and Freeland (who I think is a major reason we won that Charlotte game) are playing I don't know how MyLe will sniff the court except at garbage time.

I was first on the Meyers being the most improved bench player bandwagon..he's a stretch 4 who really wants to be a 7'1 SF. He just doesn't overthink his shot and he's money at the line. All of our bigs are great free throw shooters. Freeland is to defense what Meyers is to offense. If we could just clone these guys.

I don't know if I'd call it a bandwagon, more like a solo guitar lunch cart. Anyway, I digress, it is an awkward situation. Meyers needs meaningful playing time to play D, especially better help D, learn to protect the rim, rebound etc. but Stotts wants to win games. It will probably be a while before Meyers can play at Freeland's level doing the things we really need, rebounding and defense.

I just want Leonard to look to rebound more. Maybe it's just not in his DNA or something. Other than that, he's fine

Stotts once said he thought Meyers could become a Shawn Kemp type player. I think back to the years Jemaine ONeal composted on our bench and got us old Dale Davis while he went on to become an allstar in Indy! I hope Meyers escalates his progress this season because he's an athletic freak and just needs to learn to use it.

He's only played 12 minutes and has only scored 8 points(Two threes and 2 FTs). That is 1 three, . You see tons of guys go 100% through 12 minutes. Not saying it's the same, or that it isn't impressive. I just don't think it is too meaningful.

Kaman is doing well as a hybrid 4/5 bench player and Freeland is playing well like he did last season before his injury.

Meyers is the low man on the totem pole. As you mention, Stotts wants to win now.

This. So far, Meyers is filling his role and developing his game. That's what we need -- from everyone. Meyers is right on track, IMO.

I'm not a stat guy and I don't have time to look it up (plus I had knee surgery today and I'm not feeling too good), but it's my impression that Meyers rebounds at a pretty high rate.

Oh shit! You okay bro?!

This is mainly a eye test. He boxes out like a crabby paddy. That's what fúcking kills me

I agree his defensive and rebounding fundamentals aren't great. But he does crash the boards and he gets by on athleticism. Hopefully Kaman decides to take him under his wing.

(And yeah, fairly minor as knee surgeries go. Thanks! )

Yeah, gimme rebounds are fine, but we need effort rebounds and that begins with boxing out.

Len Bias was selected by the Boston Celtics as the second overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft and never had a turnover or missed shot his entire NBA career. :devilwink:

I blame Shawn Kemp for us making that Dale Davis trade.
