working out your body =/= working out your brain

meyers brain muscle is dying of envy.

work out all day, ripped - hangs at the 3pt line, being a 'spacer' and looking like a confused kid

God... if he had gotten traded to New York... I shudder to think what would happen to him.

Meyers Leonards' contract is so fat, it's got to walk down supermarket isles sideways.

Define "poser"...

How about an example?...

Meyers is kind of dumb. He blocks people, but yet all you have to do is open his tweets via incognito.

Dumb? He gets more abuse than the sex offender we used to have on the team. His blocking of people proves that he is a very stable genius.

Can't tell if you're joking or not.

I remember reading the Kings were interested in Harkless around the trade deadline. Watch our genius GM give them Harkless for nothing to dip under the tax at some point.

I know this is a Meyer's thread, but I like this proposal better:
PORTLAND #2
Trade
POR: Evan Turner, 2019 1st round pick

SAC: Kosta Koufos, 2019 2nd round pick, 2020 2nd round pick

Cap Effect
Net Salary Absorbed: $9,129,352 in 2018-19, $18,606,557 in 2019-20

Resulting SAC salary: $100,006,104 ($1,862,896 under salary cap)

Resulting POR salary: $122,464,271 ($1,268,729 under luxury tax)

The other way to approach Portland in a salary dump would involve more useful players. While Turner and Koufos are on contracts that outweigh their talent, both could play valuable minutes. Turner will make $36 million over the next two seasons, but only half of that should really be considered excess salary. To put it in perspective, if Turner was signed by the Kings to a two-year deal for $18 million this summer, no one would have thought twice about it.

In fact, Turner could even start at SF for the Kings. So this trade could solve two of the team’s biggest problems. On the other side, Koufos is also payed about twice his open market value as well. The difference between their cap figures, plus a pair of second rounders (which are a true surplus for the Kings at this point) equates roughly to the value of a mid-to-late first.

I love this idea.

Then, if we could shed Meyers for cap space, using the 2nd round picks we got from SAC AND Swanigan, we'd have $14Mish to work with (based on next year's cap projection of $109M).

So I'm gonna run with an idea that I think would be our best chance of creating a contender... The Kofous trade and shedding Meyers would also open up the possibility of trading Nurkic for picks (since he's on a friendly contract), resulting in cap space where we could sign Cousins to a near max deal ($25M ish). Turning Nurkic and space into Cousins and picks would be phenominal. We already know Cousins was gonna come here last summer, and he's tight with our guards. At $27M for a year, we could use non-bird rights (120% of previous contract) to resign him for another year at max or near max salary, then use early-bird rights to max him out long term. (We could also shed Harkless fpr lesser salary to create MAX space)...

Let's assume we could bring back Curry for the room exception, and Kofous for the minimum.

Lillard / Curry (12) / Baldwin?
McCollum / Curry (13) / Simons
Harkless (23) / Trent (22) / Curry (3)
Collins (30) / Cousins (6) / Harkless (10)
Cousins (30) / Kofous (16) /

Plus an additional 1st or two. That's solid.

I used to hate the idea of Boogie in Portland.
While I think Nurk has a chance to turn into a dominate Center ala Marc Gasol.
Boogie is a dominate Center pre-injury. If he returns to form then I certainly hope the move is made to bring him in and ship Nurk off.
If Collins turns into an Ibaka type at the 4. Then I think it could work. Boogie just has to take charges.
