Miami Heat Dame Trade Ideas and Rumors (2 Viewers)

Oh probably seconds after Dame is traded if he goes to Miami, see that's what the "Just take Miami's offer" people don't get. This means we can NEVER build a team, EVER. Because the instant the ink is dry on an extension that player is gone. How people can't see that is WAY BEYOND ME. It's frying pan to the face obvious, hence why the League hasn't really clamped down on this shit show, but wrist slapped Dame with a toothless rebuke. The League WANTS this to happen. It solves their whole, good players in bad markets problem.

Not to get into that discussion, but it's so obvious the league doesn't give a shit about 75% of the league.

LA, Warriors, Phoenix, Miami, Dallas, NY, Brooklyn and Boston are the only teams that the league cares about (and even that list has it's own step sisters of the poor).

I'm wondering if it makes sense for us to eat Duncan Robinson contract instead of Lowry deal?

Have Miami give up all of Herro, Martin, Jacquez, Jovic, 2 firsts unprotected, 2 swaps unprotected.

Getting out of the DR deal really helps the Heat avoid tax and I think we can take it on while staying out of the tax ourselves. Only two more years after this year. It actually just replaced Nurk deal, Ayton deal is much less than Lillards, so we're still saving money.

Then we can get all those other assets from Miami instead of them keeping 1 or 2 of them.

We can likely then get Ayton for just Nurk Martin without having to give them a pick. Can get a great pick for Herro too, and use that to guarantee the 2027 swap.

Poor Chicago. They used to be called "the Second City." Looks like they're just second rate now.

If this is the trade, plus a couple of unprotected swaps... I'm ready for it. I do think it would lead to another trade because I don't think there's any fucking way that this team will be in the tax during a rebuild but if this is what goes down with Dame and Nurk outgoing then I could live with it. If it's worse than this I'll be pretty upset.

I think this puts Portland into the tax.

Where's Jeremy Sochan? Herro is worth more than a 1st and Doug.
Herro isn't worth Sochan.

The 2027 Atlanta pick is a very valuable unprotected pick. Also fits great with the structure of the Heat deal as it guarantees a swap. Sure if we can get more then do it, I doubt Herro has value for much more though.

I disagree. Sochan is projected to be a bench player at best with the arrival of Wemby. Herro has already produced at a very high level on a competitive team at a young age. He has value. His passing ability would be a great fit for the Spurs.

Sochan is a starter. No way he’s a bench player at best.

I think some of us are already prepared to be disappointed. I don't expect Ayton to come here, and I suspect the Blazers will give up a few more assets (like a Nassir) and get nothing of great value in return and continue to be an undersized shit show.
When you say it like that, how can you NOT love this trade?

Jody just doesn't want to pay the tax. There was pressure to pay the tax with Dame. Now there's none and she doesn't have to worry about it.
Here's a fun fact, of an airplane loses cabin pressure, you have to make sure you have oxygen before a child sitting next to you gets oxygen. If Jody isn't happy, Joe gets fired and he can't fix the team.

Sometimes, and I know I'm guilty of this myself, people will find an excuse to complain/be unhappy/frustrated with a situation, and migrate to the narrative that confirms their bias.

Even if that bias isn't logical, or well thought out.

See: Why my math teacher in high school is the reason I got a D+ in that class, and not because I was lazy and didn't pay attention.

Miami gets Dame for only Jaquez Jovic Martin filler two picks?

They need to give up Herro. They can keep Martin or if not we eat Robinson contract.

If it's just Nurk NAS or whatever for Ayton then we need more for Lillard.

Some of these proposals seem to mask a poor return for Lillard with an Ayton Nurk swap.

Sochan was always projected to be a starter. I doubt Spurs give him up for Herro. If Herro could get us Sochan, do it.

I'm trying to be realistic/set my expectations low so if the reality is even worse than this I have less of a meltdown. That being said, two unprotected picks that come after Dame and Jimmy should be effective in any way, two unprotected swaps around the same time, a big expiring contract on a player who would be a great mentor to our young guards, two middling prospects and Ayton is not a fair return for Dame and Nurk but I think it's a realistic one.

Who knows what it will be but I won't be as pissed as I'm still worried the trade will leave me if this is the trade.

As a player on any other team, yes. But I hear they don't want Wemby to rumble with 5s so they'll have him at the 4. Sochan is only a 4 so if this all holds to be true, he'll be a backup for the foreseeable future. If they can turn a bench player into a quality young perimeter player they might.

literally no one thinks this or projects this, aside from you, maybe. long-term, sochan is a starter piece.

I guess we'll see this season. There's no way to start him unless they put Wemby at the 5 which they've said they won't do.

If we sent Ant and one of the Heat picks for Sochan and McBuckets that might be a tempting offer. Those Spurs really lack perimeter scoring and Ant is an absolute bucket.

I think that's overpay. People acting like Sochan has done anything yet. He really hasn't.
