The Nurk Hate to me is weird and baffling.
He seems to be a punching bag, or a whipping boy for many Blazer fans.

If there's one player that deserves a chance to play with the young guys, whose size and skills would be difficult to replace, it's Jusuf Nurkic.

If you want Nurk gone, just fucking watch this.
He Is Not the same player when Dame Is Gone.
And now Dame Is Gone Permanently.

I think for those who want him gone, it's not the Nurk we know he can be and occasionally shows, but the pouting Nurk that has also appeared.

I think you're right that Nurk on the court may be happier with a Scoot than a Dame or CJ, as he would be much more involved in the offense.

Nurk is super skilled and could be a huge asset to this team. However, he has to want to bring it. We know he enjoys 47 feet of the court. We need him to care about the other 47. If we get that Jusuf, I'm happy as a clam.

He didn’t have shitty court vision. Ever since the OKC shot, he’s been better at passing out and is one of the top PnR guards and shooters. He’s been at ~7.5apg the last four years, which isn’t terrible. And he takes care of the ball.
Hell he should be closer to 10 assist and you don't turn over ball when your calling your own number all the time. Bottom line you can't turn the ball over when your always shooting.

thanks

interesting although I couldn't get past the Atlanta Hawks. Have to be a member?
Sorry, even on desktop, won't let me link to Blazers, just defaults to main page. If you play around with it, you can get your mouse arrow in the right spot to click on the team names. Otherwise, it appears there is text hovering over the team name that links instead

Maybe you can give me two strongest quots. I don't know what you talking about, so maybe I'll change my mind.
And I don't like this "friendship culture", that Blazers had with Lillard, as I explained in recent post. It haven't made any good for the team in my opinion.
Who needs to win games when the team is rapping on a plane?

My way too big idea.
Says failed because of Jaquez, so will be legal July 31s. Agreed to now.
Bulls swap out a better player in LaVine to get younger and save money at the position.
I put Philly '27 pick outgoing on accident, I'd prefer to switch it to the '27 PHX pick. Brooklyn takes on an extra year or 2 of high salary, but get a good lead guard to play alongside Bridges, Johnson and Claxton. It's not a super competitive championship roster, but gets them in that lower half of the playoffs potentially. They lose a pick for moving Simmons, and then a pick(Clowney) for adding LaVine.
Accidentally clicked on protections on that Miami pick, and don't feel like going back to alter it. But Miami gets their guy in Lillard. They have to take on Nurk to do the deal. They move Herro, Jaquez, Jovic, and 2 future picks. 27 and 29. Wasn't sure how to include them, but would want swaps, for whatever they're worth, in 26 and 28 as well.
We dump Nurk with Lillard. We add 2 rookies in Jaquez and Clowney, Young big in Jovic. 3 1st round pick, 2 swaps, and a reclamation project/flier in Simmons.
Can then work with Lowry on a buyout, which I'm sure he'd be happy to o, or facilitate a follow up move for him to get to a competitor. Or, worst case, you keep him on as a good vet mentor for Scoot, which I wouldn't mind at all.

While I’d prefer Levine in all of this, the talent coming back is good. There’s a lot of moving parts here and I wonder if all the team/agent/player egos could come together to facilitate.

Just this week I’ve read that:
- Nurkic could become toxic if we don’t trade him.
- Thybulle is desperate to join the Mavs
- Players are monitoring the Lillard situation
- Scoot is monitoring the Lillard situation
- I am monitoring the Lillard situation
- Portland wants to ‘come out looking like the good guys’
- Dame wouldn’t report to a team he doesn’t want to go to.

It might just be me, but I have a strong sense that all of those things are total bullshit.

This whole thing is bullshit. Lillard and his agent don’t have the right to pick one team and say he must be traded there. And they don’t have the right to tell other teams that Lillard won’t go there. They have effectively shut down every other team from even making an offer, and forced Cronin to deal only with Miami. And I say fuck that. Let Lillard sit out a season or retire right now. I don’t care if we get nothing for him.
For me there are only two choices: Dame stops the tampering and agrees to play for any team in the league, contender or not, or, your option.
I would back Cronin 100% if he makes Dame wait or retire and gets nothing.
You have to be able to say No.
And Dame's contract gives Cronin that power.

Why is the pick top 5 protected? And why are there no swaps in 28 and 30? Terrible trade

Did you read anything I wrote?

Here, because some people need their hand held/can't read just look at pictures...

The more this drags out, the less likely we get Jovic.

maybe, but it seems kind of weird that Dame-->Miami would pivot on Jovic

I am skeptical of what a lot of people here seem to think and that's Portland's offers will get better if this drags on; I think they'll get worse unless Dame comes out and says that he's open to other destinations. But my hunch is that Riley and Dame's agent believe Cronin will fold

I think this as well. I hope he tells Dame that we are happy to trade you, but you are worth x and Miami is not close to that

Not sure how to post the trade, but this came up in conversation based on an aggregate of things Woj, Beck and others have said. Some of the numbers had to be fairly close to even because otherwise it was pushing certain teams over an apron level.

Nets - get out of Simmons contract basically for the price of a pick. The other pick is for Herro.
Heat - they get Lillard and a replacement for Martin.
Mavs - get a center they need even though they re-signed Powell. It seems they still feel they need another big. Martin is a nice SF piece for them as well.
Blazers - get the picks they want, a young big, a serviceable vet on an ending deal they might be able to move, and Simmons bloated contract which allowed them more picks.

Still a couple rough edges to potentially iron out, but this might work.

I’m going to be bitter if Miami gets to keep Jovic.

I'd want Jovic out of that as well and I'm sure he could be included without upsets the $$$ balance of the trade.

If the Blazers planned to trade Nurk, why would they have allowed Eubanks to walk for peanuts? (or even Watford for that matter, who could be a small ball center)

You think Cronin is sabotaging the roster though, to produce more losses? We're going to have to plug someone in there.

I don't think he cares if he has a viable replacement for Nurk.

Remember... this team played with zero size last year and Cronin refused to sign any other centers.

Cronin has been sabotaging the roster for almost 2 years, why change what lands the best draft pick?

Miami and Dame are more desperate to get a deal done than us. Who cares if we don’t get a deal done soon? We don’t need Dame to play for us, he doesn’t hurt us by sitting out. But Miami is depleted and needs to build a new roster for next season. Dame is 33 and can’t throw away one of the last seasons of his prime. He has 3 more years on his deal. We have all the leverage right now. Wait for Dame to relent on his one team demand, wait for Miami to get to September with a half-built roster start to get desperate. It’s coming.
