I DEMAND Gus Johnson and Rasheed Wallace!Knowing Mcgowan' ways, even MORE extreme homers.
I am sure you know this but Neil doesn't run the financial side. Your comment makes it look like you could be saying that even though I am pretty sure you are not.I love Neil... and I love the way the roster is being run, but frankly I think the business side of the FO is trash.
First the bullshit where they started regulating press access for websites, and now they fire 3/4 of the broadcast team. I wonder if HCP got the axe as well? I don't think these guys give a rats ass about the fans.
“After reviewing our entire broadcast operation over the past couple of seasons, I felt it was a good time for us to transition into a new direction,” McGowan said. “I would like to thank our broadcasters for their years of dedicated service to our organization and wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors. Going forward, we will focus our efforts on a national search to fill our open TV broadcast positions, with the number one goal of bringing in top-notch talent that our fans will be excited to watch during Trail Blazers broadcasts.”
What a bullshit statement. Also, I think it's stupid that they're going to have Wheels fly solo.
THIS!Kevin Calabro needs to be hired.
Tone was HORRIBLE.
And I'm not as big of a fan of the Mikes as some of you are. I welcome the change.
Damn I miss The Snapper.
If you've listened to wheels and tone... Wheels can do a game all by himself. Tone would have these long-winded answers and we'd miss complete plays because of it... so Wheels can do it by himself.
Just because Tone wasn't very good, doesn't mean Wheels should be alone.
Harvey was pretty terrible. Should have been replaced long ago. I would have kept rice, ditched Barrett personally. But am not nearly as upset as many here.
Also feel like McGowan has done a great job. Firing the mike's isn't going to change my mind on that.
Why not? I can see he can carry a broadcast... Tone added nothing... I forgot he was there half the time. The only time I knew he was there was when he talked too long and we missed a play.
For one, I've really liked the shift in arena with all of the unique and local food options. Instead of the same generic food options you get at every arena. What has McGowan done that was great?
In a bizarre twist, the new TV crew will be Slypokerdog and Denny Crane.
Because Wheels gets SEVERELY depressed when the team is doing bad. It's basically unlistenable when he's like that. They've got to have someone to balance him out when things aren't going well.
My only real issue besides the fact I don't like change, is that he is conducting a national search. Does he not get how "localized" Portland fans are? My guess is that they'd want "one of their own" calling games
