- Mike Dunleavy recently guided the Portland Trail Blazers for four seasons (1997-2001), leading them to a 190-106 (.642) record and four straight playoff appearances (two of them WCF finals).

He was fired. This happens all the time.

Whitless was also fired too the year after. He didn't have the time to fire Cheeks to the franchise's defense.

And I thought it was about trading for Indiana's oft-injured small forward.

In hindsight, Dunleavy should've been fired right after the fourth quarter meltdown. Which would have been completely unfair, because we almost beat 'em, and would probably have beaten Indy for the title. But the team fell apart after that.

Is that what's happening now? Well, Nate is pretty controlling. But is he the asshole that Dunleavy has turned out to be? I don't think so. And you only fire a coach of a GOOD team when you have a good coach in waiting. And I don't think we do.

I don't disagree with you, but how do you think Monty would run the team? The players like him, and he has helped several develop. But, if he was head coach what would change? Would he institute a more complex offense, or cut the players loose?
