I've told you this before, Sly...In general, prison sentences in this country are too long. Most sentences would get the same amount of crime-decreasing results if they were cut to 10% of what they are.

The most heinous long sentences are the ones for first offenders for minor offenses. The evil legal system ruins someone's life by sentencing him to an unemployable life in hiding after release, in effect a life sentence.

That's true for both black and white people. Black people then get a double effect because of their disproportionate percentage arrested. The crappy prison sentence lengths need to be reduced for all races. This evil started in the Reagan Administration. Republican state legislators are also at fault.

Whether it's the "Constitutional Patriots", the KKK, AIM, or Black Panthers/Black Lives Matter, they are all caused by a credible perception of danger or discrimination by the Feds or Society-in-general against their particular niche of Americans.

Until the Feds treat all Americans equally, rather than use discrimination as a tool to end discrimination (Affirmative Action), they will continue to exist, and perhaps necessarily so.

I would never be a part of one, or any mob action for that matter. I prefer to control my actions myself, rather than follow someone else.

Whoah... Weird... Grouping the Black Panthers in the BLM movement makes absolutely no sense. They are not one in the same. Also saying that affirmative action was the reason for any of this flies in the face of reality. Affirmative action has nothing to do with these dumbass ranchers burning down federal land and these unregulated militias taking action. Militias and the KKK have been alive and well WAY before affirmative action (upheld by the SCOTUS) ever existed...

That's just a weird response.

While I personally don't believe in mandatory minimum sentencing, unfortunately that is the law. I do believe it should be changed. But that has happened yet. MANY black people have been disenfranchised by MMS. Funny how when it happens to a White Conservative people want to get armed and participate in terrorist activities...

To be fair Clinton passed a crime bill that instilled mandatory minimum sentencing. In my opinion that is cruel and unusual punishment. MMS has disproportionately affected black people and has doubled the prison population since Clinton passed it.

Republicans were behind it. Clinton didn't represent most congressmen in his own party. Dennis Hastert, the "clean ethical Republican," was one of the biggest rats.
 
Who gave this group the title of Militia? Seems like a bunch a wacko ranchers to me, much like exist in many places.

I had a ranch in North East Oregon for about 10 years. The friggin locals thought they should be able to run their cows anywhere they roamed. Their land, my land, Federal land or your land.
One close neighbor named Riesdom, decided to test me one day. There were about 150 of them in the phone book, and old Dutch family had been interbreeding there for years.
Anyway, coming home one day, I found the gate to one of my wheat fields was open and the field full of Riesdom cattle. Old Darrel R. was sittling there in his pickup truck watching them.

I said Darrel, why the fuck are your cattle in my wheat field?
If you had it fenced they wouldn't be there!

Darrel, I want you to remove them now, or I start gut shooting them.
I headed for the cows.

He beat me to them.

I wonder how long these guys down around Burns have been there fucking each other breeding cousins?

No that would be slavery and Jim Crow. Regardless of how you want to paint it, affirmative action helps more white women then it is ever helped black people. But I'm sure you'd rather go back to a time when black people were discriminated against even more when it comes to employment. It's hilarious to me when white people complain about affirmative action.
 
Also MARIS you really seem to subscribe to this us against them mentality that you blame me for having. Affirmative action hasn't affected you in the slightest and it's probably helped white wives way more than it's helped me.

Now you're talking about something you don't know anything about. The only time a caucasian woman is hired by the Feds or most other state governments is when a non-caucasian is available. The criteria is spelled out very clearly to all employees in Federal Human Resource Departments, and their careers depend on them adhering to this basic points system regardless of qualified applicants or lack thereof.

Caucasian male (non-veteran) = minus 1 pts.
Caucasian male (veteran) = 0 pts.
Any minority male = 1 pt.
Caucasian woman = 1 pt.
Any minority woman = 2 pts.

Examine any major Federal agency and you will find an abundance of minority women to such a degree that it is visibly obvious. Caucasian women are still under-represented in Federal employment, and always will be as long as Affirmative Action is allowed to piss on the equal rights of all Americans.

Affirmative Action discriminates against tens of millions of caucasian women applicants, while occasionally showing preference to a few in isolated outposts.

All I tried to say was that, unless you actually inhabit and experience the world of someone else, you can't truly understand where they are coming from. It has most certainly "affected" me, but more importantly it has kept racism in full bloom and hurt ALL Americans. For my part it caused me to voluntarily walk away from a career supporting my country after 17 years of "exemplary service" according to my yearly reviews and boxes full of written accommodations and awards.

That's worked out fine for me as I'm no victim and I can handle adversity, and I am now living the dream in Beautiful Central Oregon, but it cost me tens of thousands of dollars and forced me to re-invent my career at age 40 precisely because I am a caucasian male. If the Feds forced a black man to re-invent his career at age 40 I'm fairly certain it would dominate the media daily until heads rolled and hiring practices changed.

I was told point blank by several HR people they were not allowed to promote anyone over a minority, regardless of qualifications. If a minority applicant has no qualifications they are trained, sometimes for the length of their career, and work is often contracted out when too difficult for them. It has increased the cost of government many times over.

Friends and co-workers of mine were less lucky, and a few I know had their lives completely destroyed.

American has roughly 100 million caucasian men, and roughly 110 million caucasian women.

210 million people discriminated against due to their ethnicity.

Largest number of slaves in America at any given time was less than 5 million.

There are far more slaves in the world today, 30 million, than any time in history. No country in the world has less slaves per capita than America.

Ha! If you say so Maris! I do know for a fact that I cancelled development projects because I could not staff them. Affirmative Action program GPA requirements too high for White kids that otherwise could be hired, while you can't find any black ones that will take the job when you do find one with the GPA needed, lower but no interest.

I sent a Black lady to do the recruiting, in case it was just my style in the way. She had no success either.

I think it has affected a whole lot of people, even if they don't know it.

All I said was the truth. Government regulation of any kind is overreach. They want to get rid of the EPA...
