I expect Frazier to be cut. If somehow he makes the squad Pressey will be cut. Neither one will be in the regular rotation and neither can play SG so theres an argument we could even cut both if we had to make two cuts.

If Alexander or Montero play so poorly the coaching staff feels its not worth wasting a roster spot on them thats about the only way I can see both Pressey and Frazier making it. Or if some Blazer on the final year of his deal such as Kaman, Hendo, Harkless, Crabbe have a season ending injury.

I can't see the team cutting Alexander in favor of either pressey or Frazier. One of those two won't make it IMO. My guess is Pressey beats out Frazier.

The order of probability of getting cut:

1. Pressey (PG who can't shoot, smoothie)
2. Frazier (PG who can't shoot, scrapper)
3. Montero (22-year old high schooler, no college)
4. Alexander (as dumb as Thomas Robinson but shorter with 1/3 the college years)
5. Connaughton (#4 without guaranteed contract, unable to jump, shoot, or smile)
6. Heartless Harkless (would be #5, but has guaranteed contract)

Never seen Pressy play, but his stats look terrible. What's with the love he gets?
I've seen him play & he's a better player vs. his stats. He's a guy that w/ steady playing time/role, his stats will catch up to his play (MUCH better vs. a player w/ bloated stats that doesn't do crap!). He's still young (24) & it looks like he will improve; Tim though, it doesn't look to me like he'll really get better.

We need that extra big so Cliff Alexander will make the team. I think Pressey will not make the team. But, I am sure he will find another team soon after.

Danny Ainge had really great things to say about Pressy..I watched his play and some cuts of him..the dude is a physical freak for a small guy. Better ballhandler and passer than Frazier from what I saw but a gym rat like Wes was..he has the x factor Frazier doesn't really show me..both guys are fast. neither is a good defender

I had to like this post for #4. for dumb as TRob etc...and the Conaughton can't smile gets me everytime!

I want to keep Alexander and Montero...not attached to the thing 1 and thing 2 pt guards in the long run.

Wow, he is pretty good, look at these highlights:

If you want to play small ball..Pressy is your dude..the guy is quick and athletic..he'll tire out the opposing defense..energizer bunny

Big deal, 30 years ago. Stars then would be filler material now. With the new NBA stats and ceramic materials, computers have changed conditioning techniques. And the awful color man, Rick Barry. Hope I die before I get old.

If it's between these 4 players I'd waive Montero. Frazier obviously outplayed him in SL, Pressey I think has more value and Alexander I'd like to keep in a possible T-Rob role.
Been my thinking as well, Montero's a looong way off.

Montero will make the roster. He is the perfect #15 guy. He's not going to command playing time but can do some things that only 1 or 2 other Blazers on the entire roster can do. His contract is for 3 years. It's not all guaranteed but they signed him to that because they believe if he can get some good coaching and practice against higher caliber players, he has some unique skills. I would take him out of this discussion.

It's down to Frazier, Pressey and Alexander and IMO, it's really down to Frazier/Pressey.

Agreed on all counts.

Indeed. Frazier is what he is. I don't think he's going suddenly become a starter. Montero, on the other hand, could one day develop into something special.

Fair thee well, Andre Miller, we hardly knew thee.

Wait, it was Mike Miller?

All of this, AND Montero could potentially play SG - the weakest position in the NBA. Undersized PGs are a dime a dozen. There is absolutely zero reason for Montero to be cut while holding onto two undersized, and marginally talented PGs. It's not like either Frazier or Pressey is Nate Robinson or Isaiah Thomas.
Who cares of Frazier was better than Montero is Summer League? That literally means nothing. Montero has potential, Frazier doesn't.

Then Pressey goes. But unless something horrific happens during camp, Montero won't be cut ahead of Frazier/Pressey.

Agreed. If the 3rd string PG was smart enough to get in tight with Dame, keep him and let the other one go. Since neither of them would get any playing time unless it was a blowout or due to an injury, it doesn't really matter. If either Timmy or the Son of Paul is playing significant minutes, we can start planning the "We're #1 Draft Lottery Party" right now.

If Frazier is the 3rd string, who is the backup? CJ?
