“Dre is underappreciated – always has been,” says Portland assistant Bill Bayno

“Dre is the most underrated point guard in the last 10 years in this league,” Denver point guard Chauncey Billups says. “I’ve been saying that for five or six years. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves.

“Sometimes he has big numbers; sometimes the game doesn’t call for that and he just goes around and makes his teammates better. He’s a basketball player, and I love that about him.”

“I know my work doesn’t go unnoticed,” he says with a shrug. “I get respect from players and management around the league. That’s all that matters.”

“I’d like to go until I’m 40,” he says. “I think I’ll be able to do that.”

“I haven’t peaked yet,” he says. “Strength-wise, energy-wise … I still feel young at heart, as far as my body.”

That's great to hear. I love Andre Miller's game.

i think he will be here next year unless we get a trade that brings us a devin harris type

whos gonna play pg? aarmon johnson... um no.

i dont see pryz or miller being traded unless we get back their position in trade.

Or if we feel the need to trade an expiring contract to free cap space.

We will have no cap space at all for the next couple of years. It would be trading him to get under the luxury tax line, but I do believe we went under it with the Martel Webster trade.

I wonder if we'll be operating under a hard cap after the new CBA.

Bad Ass, Dre is one smart player I could easily see him lasting that long and I fully agree with Chauncy on this one. As Dre gets older he'll be awesome off the bench as well.

Miller is one of 13 players in history to surpass 13,000 points and 6,500 assists. The others: Harper, John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas, Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Rod Strickland, Terry Porter, Bob Cousy and Kevin Johnson.

3 Blazers on that list.

i have no idea why 'Dre is so maligned by parts of this fanbase. I understand he isn't flashy and doesn't open up much - but he's a baller and pretty much the most consistent player on the court for us most of the time.

I've always liked Miller's game and thought he was generally underrated. I think he may be able to play to 40 since his game is not really predicated on sheer athleticism. He penetrates, but mostly through keeping defenders off-balance. He's a cerebral player and that kind of player, IMO, ages well.

These are my feelings as well. I'd add that he gets more hate around here than I think he should. He's a solid player.
