hi, i like techno and moshing to pearl jam. and teachers and firefighters are ruining america. oh and blue collar workers too, fuck them.

:biglaugh:

Nowhere did I pretend or claim to be an expert on pearl jam. mosh on dude.

Hey, I'm biased to that period of music. I've seen PJ 15 times in concert, including the first time in a barn at the Bozeman, MT fairgrounds in 1991 before they hit it big the next year.

I just find it funny that people were moshing in the late '90s when it was my generation that brought it back from the punk days. I mean, if you're going to mock me being a DJ in my mid-20s, I can certainly mock moshing to the crap bands of the late '90s.

Nirvana/AIC/PJ/Soundgarden/STP/Tool/Primus etc. etc. I'll put that up against any "mosh" music from the late '90s.

Why is it funny people were moshing in the late 90s? Just as funny you were moshing in the early 90s? Does your generation want a cookie for "bringing it back"? Did it have to come back and then die with your generation? You can certainly mock people moshing to limp bizkit. Seems like it's misdirected at people who didn't, though. I think it's all rather dumb, PJ or limp bizkit, but that's just me.
I'm sure the dudes who moshed to the hardcore punk music in the 80s mocked you for doing it to grunge bands.

You think it's so dumb that you just wrote an anger-infused rant. Weren't you the one mocking "moshing" to Pearl Jam? Or am I not allowed to be a smart ass back at you? Hell, at least some people here get it, but you seem to get very upset when the blast is turned around at you.

You made a foolish statement about Pearl Jam. I made a few posts about it. I also think Limp Bizkit is pure shit, and expressed it.

Plus, hardcore punk was in the '70s, not '80s. Maybe I should start a music history thread?

I always liked it when the dudes were so into grunge, and had their designer flannels and pre-ripped jeans.

I always like it when people that obviously have not clue fucking one about what they're talking about still try to join in the latest pile-on. Designer flannels? Maybe in the late-90s. You must have hung out with a rich crowd or something.

there was no anger in my post. none at all. I find it amusing how each generation mocks the following for things. You brought back something that was already around, but became "popular" again because some of the music associated with it was popular. Cool.
My foolish statement about Pearl Jam? Where? When I asked what dudes moshing to jeremy looks like? Somehow it makes me uninformed about them? No. I wasn't trying to express knowledge about the band in the slightest.

There was hardcore punk in the 80s as well. Or did it all just immediately die? Nobody anywhere listened to and moshed to any punk music in the 80s. got it.

I wasn't referring to you, I was referring to the individuals I saw who did just that. I do have fucking clue one, I saw it first hand. Yes, obviously the kids doing it did have money. But wanted to fit into grunge, so bought "grunge clothes. I'm not 'piling on" But look at you getting all defensive. lol. I was simply referring to the kids who tried to piggyback onto what was cool at the time. But did it with money.

Wait ... so that was you being funny? I'll have to reassess things a bit. A very subtle sense of humor ... :)

I don't think this was a dig at your by RR. But he's spot on. Even in the early-90's, I saw a lot of this. You see it with every fashion trend, though, that is less than super-clean. The gangsta look had this. The hipster look has evolved more into this.

I didn't sense humor here, nor did I sense anger. What I did sense was a valid point. People here are either wound to tight, or too loose.

Got it. I completely agree with both of you. I remember watching CNN in college and they had "the grunge look" being featured at some Paris fashion show. At that point, I got angry. :)

Mocking moshing to PJ after a poster said they moshed to PJ sure seemed like it was directed at that poster. Perhaps it was just a random coincidence?

Reading again, I do sense anger, and this right after a lie about not directing a PJ reference at me.

But, if not, I apologize. I'm sure RR7 is above taking shots at individual posters.

But, if not...

I was only referring to the one post to which you responded to with your "anger" comment.

Where did I lie about not directing a PJ reference at you?

oh, the designer grunge. Yeah, had nothing to do with you. I have no clue what you dressed in in the 90s. I was referring to people I grew up near.

Where did I lie about not directing a PJ reference at you?

Oh, so it was a shot at me. Yet you then lecture me because I took shots at others.

Got it. :)

Sorry, where did I lie and say the mosh pit comment was not directed at you?
As for the "lecture", I just said I find it funny when one generation mocks another for doing what they did, just because they were somehow first, or the initial ones to bring it back. I wasn't lecturing you for taking shots at others. Mock people who mosh to limp bizkit. They like limp bizkit, there's much to mock. All I said is it is funny when it's haha, look at you moshing to THAT music, we did it right in my generation. But your reading comprehension seems to waiver slightly when you get defensive in threads like this.

candlebox was soo hardcore, their pits were legendary

You didn't. My mistake. I get confused when 3 or more posters are commenting to me. It was a shot at me. As I said, got it!

Flame away, now that we're on the same page!

i remember my generation bringing back the charelston, when i see kids doing the charelston now, im like "lol"
