That site still seems cramped to me. I hope it happens though.

Is that the bullpen below the left field bleachers? That's where I wanna sit.

Looks amazing. Kinda weird the outfield doesn’t have a lot of seats tho

This design on the river in industrial NW would be gorgeous.

This design in the SoW(h)at district... disaster.

How so... the Tilikum Crossing rocks.

Access, parking, supporting businesses, additional nightlife, just not enough room and zero additional economic development.

In industrial NW that ballpark would be a catalyst for more development. When the PDP was selling us on the spot by Washington Square they said that area works because it would anchor additional development and has easy access. The SoWat district is developed. It is already packed.

Also the Ross Island bridge is long past its life. You think replacing the Sellwood was hard, wait until you try to replace the Ross.

You put that stadium in INW, you have 20 years of development and growth.

You put that in SoWat you have forever congestion and zero additional economic growth.

The SoWa district is nowhere near its full potential

I like this mayor a lot.. he gets it

The issue, as it has for as long as I can remember, is that there is a large portion of the population who do not want it to be a major city. Unfortunately for them
is that when you have 2.5 million in the metro area..... it's too late to keep it from happening.

I saw a study once years ago saying how we would have almost the LEAST amount of rain during the course of the MLB season of any of the current cities.

There is a lot of truth to this statement. The idea that Portland *has* to have a retractable roof, is silly and almost like it's a built in excuse for why it can't happen.

Portland gets less rain than Chicago, Miami, New York, Detroit, Seattle, Milwaukee, New York, Boston and I'm sure others.

Yeah, there are issues at the start of the season, but for the bulk of the season it's unnecessary.

The key is to ignore them. I know, I know kinda ironic coming from he huh? Haha

I feel like we get more rain during spring then we do winter

But having a retractable roof would be nice. It would make sure there are no rain outs and it would make the stadium more useable during the winter months (concerts etc).

I'm not saying no to it, just that thinking it's mandatory is ignorant

You would be incorrect

While MLB expansion plans likely won't become definite until those two teams finalize their next homes, two of Portland’s main competitors for expansion have already come to the plate: Nashville and Salt Lake City.

“I'm very competitive. I do not like to lose,” Cheek said. “I haven't lost a whole lot in my time at Nike for 26 years, and I don't plan on losing this to Utah.”

Craig Cheek doesn’t play. This is how Harry Glickman use to think
