Due diligence on a possible bid for the blazers?

We don't want John Fisher owning the Trail Blazers. Not even as a part owner, or a friend of a future owner. Guy is arguably one of the worst owners is all of professional sports, and would ruin this franchise.
He doesn't have the net worth even if he wanted. 3 billion net worth and it's almost all tied up in the As. He'd have to sell his entire As ownership first. NBA doesn't allow owners to buy franchises on debt.We don't want John Fisher owning the Trail Blazers. Not even as a part owner, or a friend of a future owner. Debacle in the desert: will the Athletics’ $1.75bn stadium on the Vegas Strip ever be built?

Interesting, so very little construction has taken place in Vegas and no financing in place to pay for it all.Debacle in the desert: will the Athletics’ $1.75bn stadium on the Vegas Strip ever be built?

They made a good point. Building a Stadium in San Francisco and keeping the fans they had while garnering more public support and having a top 10 TV market makes financial sense.I like how that article asks why the A's owner would leave Oakland, for "the desert"...as if the fact he's a bad owner who doesn't know how to run a team or ingratiate himself to a region is completely lost on them.
Yes I know it's a rhetorical question.
Home run derby > Dunk contest
No question.
How is that relevant to a real basketball game? Home runs seem more relevant to real baseball games. Why isn't there a half court or full court shooting contest in the NBA all star game?
And / Or make the 3-point shooting contest racks much farther back than where they are now (where possible, there is a limit in some spots).
If you are watching pros make 3 of five from half court I'm pretty certain that would draw some interest. Seriously what regular guy off the street is doing that?People do get excited about logo 3s though...
I haven't watched the HR derby in a while, for some reason I always seem to be busy that night.Home run derby > Dunk contest
No question.
Sure. Just not sure if it would have the same appeal as the Home Run Derby. If you are watching pros make 3 of five from half court I'm pretty certain that would draw some interest. Seriously what regular guy off the street is doing that?

In my opinion, what's killed the dunk contest is the announcing team bagging on everyone instead of propping them up. I remember(obviously a long time ago) them making fun of Rudy Fernandez when he was in it. They shit on all the guys.
Imagine if in the HR derby, every time a guy didn't make a HR, they just started mocking the hell out of him, and if he barely clears the wall, them calling him out for not hitting bombs. It's lame to me, which is why, unless there happens to be a Blazer in it again, I don't watch the dunk contest. I can catch highlights without commentary if I want.
