OT MLB to PDX: We're talking baseball to PDX

I think they're just going with different scenarios. I don't think Charlotte or Raleigh are realistic locations (over Nashville).

Looking at the map, it's crazy how there's huge swaths of land with nothing.

It’s crazy how west of Denver there’s barely any teams. I think I count 8 including the Rockies..

In reality they need to add 2 teams for the western region. Portland and SLC honestly

The Dwight Howard dunk contest killed it for me. What a farce. It went swiftly downhill after that.

We just gonna pretend like the Aaron Gordon/Zach Levine Dunk Contest didn't happen after? That's a top 5 dunk contest.

The cost of equipment too. You need a ball and shoes. That's it. That's one of the main reasons why soccer has been so successful all over the world.

Baseball is very expensive.

Football is very expensive.

Hockey is very expensive.

And, as you mentioned, you can't really play the game alone.

My niece (she was 7 at the time) asked "why black folks played basketball a lot". This was the answer I gave her. You just need a ball and a park and you can play by yourself.
It's probably the least expensive sport to play. Lots of sports have a huge paywall.

That's why I played it. Only thing cheaper was wrestling.

Those were my sports.

Didn't see it.

I, personally, am sad to see the Dunk Contest go away. I get it. None of the best dunkers even participate anymore. We got Mac McClung winning. There are better dunkers on playgrounds and in gyms than NBA (yes I said it). But again, it's sad that it's gone. Here's one you missed though. It was REALLY good. Literally one for the ages.

I think running shoes are more expensive than a basketball. And you really only need 1 basketball for 10-15 players.

And running for fun? I could never get there.
I guess. But you'd still want some type of basketball shoes for support. You can play it, just like you can run in whatever shoes you have, but injury risk can go up.

I don't think I've owned a pair of dedicated basketball shoes, except when I had to for organized school basketball in middle school. And even then, they doubled as my PE shoes (which were mandated by the school).

Problem was, wrestling and basketball season are the same season. Had to choose. And I was naturaly a far better wrestler.

School gave me the singlet and head gear, but I had to buy dedicated wrestling shoes.

Wrestling was great in one aspect. I got to chug honey for my cotton mouth.

I'm not gonna talk about why I had cotton mouth.....

You don't need all the fancy equipment to become a great baseball player:

Wrestlers are the most vile and disgusting people I've ever met. Nothing bothers them.
Go on.

In cross country people would shit their pants and keep running.

Some of us also put icy hot on our balls because it would start to burn if you weren't running fast enough to create a breeze of air.

Ever heard of a wrestler "checking the oil" of their opponent?

What turned me off to the dunk contest was when it became a clown show between the announcers, some of the dunkers and their buddies, and the favoritism of the judges. Maybe it got better.
