For baseball? I don't like that at all.
There's a ton of history. Have you seen the documentary on Netflix?

Always liked alliterative names.
Several excellent options to represent this city...
- Pioneers
- Pines
- Pipers
- Panhandlers
- Potholes
- Protestors
- (O)Possums
Are we fielding an all-white team? How about Klamath Falls, sunniest place in the state.
Hey, there are ancient rocks younger than me.Christ you're old.
Not that there's anything wrong with that

That's a suggestion worthy of consideration, especially since the site was previously studied and approved by that study.I still think the site of the old Multnomah Kennel Club would have been a decent spot. That’s where the Grande Ronde tribe proposed building one (in exchange for a Portland area casino). But I believe that horse is out of the gate......
I can't wait to complain about how shitty our pitching is.
The Mavericks have little to no history. The Beavers produced a lot of MLB players and have a long history. I believe they were the original team when the Multnomah Stadium was built.I'll riot if we don't name them the Marvericks.

The national media is lazy at times. Occasionally, I still hear them say Oree-gone.I wouldn't want it to be the Beavers - don't need any confusion with Oregon State. National media already can't keep Oregon and Oregon State straight.
Mike Barrett says that their architects have come up with a retractable roof design unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Yeah, and they're all taking jobs that I want such as dishwasher, roofer, concrete worker, short order cook, waitress, lawn and garden maintenance, carpet installer, dry wall installer, house painter. I'm ready to put down my slide rule and take a massive pay cut to do those jobs, dammit. Now, if we could only find a politician who'd see the obvious logic in that.Hey, there's a lot of Indians and Mexicans down here!

Oh yeah, like our opinions matter to the big shots.Portland Mavericks
I worked with an electrical engineer from OIT at Tektronix. The kid was really good. Went from technician to engineer in one fell swoop (whatever that means). They're actually all students at OIT; the white folk are the janitors already.

Had a software class with another guy from OIT. Dumbest shit head in that class. I was the team leader on a project and he was assigned to my team. Had to put him over in a corner 'cause he continually made suggestions that were off track and not helpful at all.
I guess, there's good ones and bad ones in every group.
Say wha....?? You must have been living out of state during the Maverick’s tenure. They produced more feel good (and colorful) stories in their short few years than the Beavers did in all their years. They actually “belonged” to Portland, not only physically but in spirit also. A Portland MLB team should be honored to be called the Mavericks......though the Hipsters also works for me.....The Mavericks have little to no history. Little known fact, the Beavers had a radio announcer, Bob Blackburn, who left and went to work in Seattle for the Mariners the same year Schonely left the Mariners and came to work for the Portland Trail Blazers. I know they switched cities in 1970 and I remember Blackburn doing the Beavers baseball games, I'm just not sure that Schonely worked for the Mariners, although I think he did.
The Beavers played AAA ball and sent many players on to the big leagues. I probably was out of state during part of the tenure of the Mavericks.Say wha....??
