Mike Barrett said the City of Portland is behind the efforts to bring MLB to Portland, where as previous leadership wasn't. Having a MLB team be the catalyst for development, and betterment of the metro area is a big step that will promote prosperity in the future. Coors Field in Denver is still the magnet for city changing development and prosperity almost 2 decades after it was built. And it isn't slowing down. That area pre Coors was not nice at all.

Also I bet the city is behind this even more now than ever. With how bad we been latley something like this could change the trajectory towards positivity for the city in a major way

Exactly! There's never been a better time.

That Dome by the river would have been sweet.

And this place is beautiful in the summer. The retractable roof guaranty's no rain outs. Add the food carts all around, and an already good restaurant area, a big win all around. Traffic will always be a problem no matter where it's built because the area's freeway system is antiquated. But having those Max lines already there is a huge plus. The housing area around Lloyd Center is super nice. I deliver food in the area. Once the Albina Development gets going and the Blazers renovation is done, that area will pop with a new sense of identity . Add the MLB Stadium and it will be flat out amazing.

Metropolitan Tavern, top hotel Eastlund in the Lloyd district has great views of downtown (food too).

If they could get the stadium to do the same it would be awesome.

When are the tryouts?

Why do we need an again thread?

There are a few of us who really should avoid advising others on what they should or should not post on here.

You're in that wheelhouse buddy...

just felt in a poetic mood....

Take me out to the ballgame
Right through the homeless crowd.....
Right through the addicts and bums on crack,
I don't care if I never go back...

And it's toot..... toot, toot through a fine screen
and if they face plant it's a shame...
Cuz it's 1...arrest....and you're back out, at the old....ball...game!

(Honestly, I want baseball here bad. Where ever they can place it.)

Lloyd center has to be the obvious choice. I don’t even see why the owners of that building wouldn’t want to sell that thing tonight. Seems to me it’s an empty money pit..
