This. The guy who pinpointed me and lectured about how we can be better posts things like this. The mods okay it.
Body then says see OB, what he is round about calling you? and Body gets banned for an insult, when he was simply pointing out Wizen was the one with the insult.
But see Wizen posts democratic viewpoints and thus, in my opinion gets more leeway to be rude and insulting, like soooo many left wingers.
But the moment a right winger posts back, its a reprimand. or a ban. or.... yeah...
All's fair around here. LOL...
sure it's not a splinter from the other leg?I've got an ingrown toenail.
Adios motherfuckers.

Its not aBout thin skin man. Its about snarly posts having the same response and how it seems there is bias as to what lefties can get away with vs righties.since I'm the one you guys are using as a foil, I'm going to respond:
if you think what I wrote was "insulting" my take is you might need to grow a little thicker skin.
and by the way, I didn't get upset and feel persecuted when bodyman called me wizendouche. The benefit of thicker skin
Wow, I seldom, if ever, think anyone in here is drunk. I can proclaim that I have never and never will be drunk in here. Am I naive?Incidentally, since I seem to have been invoked here, I'm going to clarify that that "If he is drunk" thing was due to bodyman alleging he was. I was simply saying, if he is (and we all are sometimes) he'll deal it with tomorrow. I wasn't assuming he was, or saying he was.
Otherwise, carry on.

Again you miss the point....
im not sure why im even commenting on this.
somehow i think i might turn a lightbulb on for some people and the behavior that is accepted by some and not by others.
anyhow its a total bunch of shit to say if I'm gone thingd will be better. Ive left for a period and saw the same shit happening, fights, arguments whether im here or not.
Yet some forum pet wants to chime in and say “we” are better off without them. Does he know how many people are NOT on here more because of his past antics?????
What a fucking clique....
body was right....
Fuck the asshole posters who, when get treated like an asshole in return, cant handle it and call it bitching.
And fuck the rest of you who chime in and pile up on the crap.
History is all in the threads as to who starts what and who pig piles on, creating more drama.
So sick of being blamed for simply retaliating in kind to the assholery thats so prevalent around here.
If i had thin skin i would be reporting posts and people like the thin skinned ones who reported me yesterday.
Ive never reported anyone, so maybe your thin skin shit should be directed at the ones who are actually thin skinned and “tattling”???
yeah. Im the one with thin skim around here... quick. Wheres the report button????

fucking hypocrites abound in this forum.

@yuyuza1 spurred me to put this together after his thread, but I want to dive much deeper into this....
"The Legacy of Dame"
Many people are starting to compare him and The Blazers to the likes of Clyde with the Blazers. Always being a backseat driver to the greatest. Clyde had Jordan who owned him and Dame has been overshadowed by Curry.
When Michael Jordan came into this league, he couldn't get past the Pistons. The Bulls made some adjustments and put together a team around him that worked. It still took a couple of playoff series going head to head with them before they finally found what worked, both in player personal and style of play. Once they were able to overcome the Pistons, they never looked back.
Now I'm here to say that I think in part, the reason Portland couldn't overcome the Bulls back in the day, was because of them being in different conferences, thus, not meeting each other and becoming familiar enough with each other. Portland had a very high BBIQ team and with more time head to head, might have been able to figure it out, much like the Bulls did against the Pistons.
Well, Dame Culture Portland has not had much success against GSW overall in the last 5 years, but have seemed to play them more competitive in the last two years, having beat them twice this year during the regular season. We have seen them several times in the playoffs(maybe twice?) and I think that we can take GSW in a 7 game series because we have become very familiar with them, much like the Bulls did to the Pistons.
This is our time coming, as their team can't last much longer based on salary cap and player demands, so this is the year we need to put a stamp on this and Dame can begin one of the GOAT campaign. Anything less than taking this to 7 games and Dame is still a shadow. But if we can take them to 7 and/or take the series, There will not be any looking back and Dame and the Blazers could go like the Bulls. FA's will want come here and the following year we will have many of the bad contracts off our books.
Dames legacy can truly start tonight and I think he has the greatness in him to make it happen.. and not look back.
I believe in Dame Culture.
I believe in The Legacy of Dame.
more often than not, video doesn't capture the whole situation, what preceded the video and gives one side of a story due to editing or not having the whole conflict on video.
Usually a person filming doesn't know ahead of time there will be something to film, so more often than not, what initiates a confrontation is not what is filmed, but only the reaction or the results of the confrontation.
Which means more often than not, a victim defending themselves gets portrayed as the criminal because the whole conflict was not caught on video.
Here is a perfect example of a girls life shattered for being falsely accused a racist by the world because of a video that doesn't portray the whole situation.
I see this same thing happen here at times.
So quick to want to judge and condemn we are. When you feel the need, please think of this girl before spreading things around social media.

No this is NOT a Political thread, so keep that shit outa here!!!!!!!
This is a thread to discuss what types of party games you like to play. This means at casual social functions, not just beer parties, so lets not fill the responses with 50 posts about beer bongs and quarters and shit fuck and all that.I'm thinking more physical stuff.
More curious as to how many would pick up some horseshoes and play if it was there at a party?
Do you prefer arcade games over pool and/or ping pong?
How about badminton? Anyone like playing that?
Croche?
I have ideas im thinking about to complete my entertainment side of my property, but don't want to waste space on something that would never get used.
So considering most everyone here is into sports and entertainment and has a competitive edge to them, What do you like to play at a summertime bbq party?
@oldfisherman should be leading this thread.
Anyone interested in getting together for a fishing trip?
Maybe a Charter for some Salmon, or a simple meet up on the Clackamas river or something?
What do you prefer?
Ocean?
River?
Lake?
All of the above?
Who is down?
I have two tickets to give to the first person to claim them.
300 level, section 301, row G, seats 2 & 3. Basically half court above a handicap section, so no one in front of you.
I have 100 level tickets provided to me by my boss, so I thought I would offer mine up here, though, I see the other thread still hasn't had all the tickets given away.
Anyhow. First person to PM me they want them gets them.
PM me, because I wont be checking the forum much, but I will get an email on a private message.
Thanks and....
GO BLAZERS!!!
Anyone hear anything postgame about cj?
i cant find any updates. Look like a potential 2-4 week sprain recovery from what i could see.
Anyone hear or read anything?
is Dame going to be the lone starter left for a while?
whats ne.....nevermind. We all k ow what would be next. cant even fathom that...
One of the coolest cats to prowl these halls!!!
Happy Birthday!!!!
hope you have a great day man!!!!!
Another closed thread i personally disagree with, but whatever.
So here is my plead:
sell me. Sell me on an idea the dems want to move on that would be better than what we have or are doing, what ideas/ thoughts do the dems have that will provide a better future for our country?
no trump is bad crap just positive ideas to improve things.
Links, articles, personal thoughts all welcome.
This os a genuine reach out to better understand, as i believe if there is a message, its getting buried by all the extremist hate on trump, which im my opinion, will hurt the dems this fall.
So, as an independent who leans towards republican ideologies, sell me on why i should vote for the dems this fall? What package is being offered to help us move positively into the next decade?
@barfo im calling you out.
you aRe very smart and knowledgeable and believe you to be able to rise above the petty and provide some valid ideas or topics.

After meeting so many people this last weekend ( Im terrible with names), I started wondering about everyones Monikers and what they mean to each person. I thought maybe everyone can give a bit of insite as to why their Moniker is what it is.
Sly, are you really a good poker player>

See what I'm sayin?
So for me, I have always liked the star constellation Orion and one night back in CO about 18 years ago, a buddy and I had a bottle of baileys open playing guitars under the stars and the name just came to be and has been my musical name ever since. Orion Bailey.
Now.. Your turn!!!
OKay, I started a new thread so this wouldnt get lost and be titled for easier searchability.
Check out the options below. I personally am leaning towards the $50.00 per person option.
How many people would like to go to this and which option would you prefer? ($30, $40 or $50?)
So Far, I have myself as 100% confirmed.![]()
After all the controversy over Dame lately and with Roy's name being brought up alot, I thought I would put this together and see what people think after reading the stats and career highlights.
Brandon came into the league at the age of 22. In his first year he played in 57 games and put up the following numbers..
06-07
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
349 765 .456 55 146 .377 294 619 .475 .492 202 241 .838 58 192 250 230 67 10 116 139 955
Dame also came into the league at the age of 22. In his first year he played in all 82 games and put up the following numbers...
12-13
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
553 1288 .429 185 503 .368 368 785 .469 .501 271 321 .844 42 215 257 531 74 19 243 172 1562
Right off the bat I see the following things that stand out:
Though Broy shot a slightly better percentage from 3pt, Dame actually had the better 2pt% at .501 compared to Roy's .492. Dame also shot a slightly better FT% by a point.
However, at first glance it appears Roy came in with a much better Defensive agenda. In 57 games he only had 7 less steals than Dame in all 82 games. His TO ratio was also much better overall. In 57 games Roy only had 116 turnovers = 2.03 per game.
Dame had 243 turnovers in 82 games = 2.96 per game.
That's almost a full turnover more, which is fairly significant.
Looking at this first year, it sure seems hey both were very similar offensively, but Roy came out as a defensive beast compared to Lillard.
Now on to year two for Roy who played in 74 games:
07-08
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
531 1170 .454 73 215 .340 458 955 .480 .485 281 373 .753 81 267 348 430 79 16 136 147 1416
Dame in his second season, again played all 82 games:
13-14
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
553 1304 .424 218 554 .394 335 750 .447 .508 371 426 .871 35 253 288 457 64 22 193 197 1695
In more games, Roy's 3pt% dropped by almost 3%. His FG% also dropped by almost a point. His FT% took a huge drop of almost 10% going from 84% to 75%, though he only shot 52 more Free Throws. Not good.
In the same amount of games as his rookie season, Dame shot virtually the same in FG% and 2pt%, but raised his 3pt% up to 39%. He also increased his Free Throw percent by 3. a good jump overall from rookie to sophomore season. A better jump than what Roy had.
On to Year Three for Roy, who played in 78 games:
08-09
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
633 1318 .480 83 220 .377 550 1098 .501 .512 416 505 .824 104 266 370 400 88 22 152 127 1765
Dame once again played in all 82 games:
14-15
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
590 1360 .434 196 572 .343 394 788 .500 .506 344 398 .864 49 329 378 507 97 21 222 164 1720
Roy was able to raise most everything from the season before. Got his FT% up to 82. Also got his FG% up to 51. These are great steps of improvement from the year prior.
Dame put up more shots than either of his prior years with a total of 590 shots. His 3pt% dropped by 1.5 but his FG% stayed virtually the same. Dame's third year was very even to his second, with not much improvement.
And year four where Roy played in 65 games:
10-11
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
491 1038 .473 73 221 .330 418 817 .512 .508 343 440 .780 73 212 285 305 61 16 129 136 1398
And Dame who has played in 64 games at the time of these stats being compiled:
15-16
FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% FG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS
547 1282 .427 201 531 .379 346 751 .461 .505 355 399 .890 42 228 270 441 58 22 208 151 1650
Again,
Roy is shooting a lower percent from 3 than Dame, but has a much better FG%. Dames 2pt% took a real dive going from .500 to .461. Dame did raise his FT% up to 89%, where Roy took another step back down to 78%.
At a preliminary look, without having yet dug into individual game performances and clutch numbers,
it seems that Roy came out of the gate a better player, but had very little overall improvement once he entered the league. For the most part he was what he was out of college.
Dame seems to have been able to elevate more parts of his game as his career has grown...
I am not done yet with this and will post more individual achievements this evening to provide a better/clearer picture to be able to decide on, but from what I see so far, Roy was what he was and Dame is elevating his game almost every season. This leads me to believe he will continue to do so and will be the better player, if he isn't already after 4 seasons to compare.
I suggest you read the following links...
Hopefully some of you will find these an eye opener and maybe have a bit more understanding of why I am the way I am.

Anyhow, for what its worth.. I think some people here would benefit greatly by giving some of these links a read and then assessing it to their state of mind with at least regards to the Blazers, but possibly your life as a whole.
I do find it comical that it has been suggested that I should be on meds when studies show negative mindsets are in much more need of help in the head.
Discuss or not, bash or not, its all good, ill figure out how to find something positive out of it!
John Canzano recently wrote an article that @SlyPokerDog posted up and it brought so many thoughts to my head, that I felt I needed to start a new thread centered around what Portland has to offer and how we can efficiently and aggressively market these positives.
"It's difficult for people who chose Portland as a place live to wrap their heads around it, isn't it? You love Portland. I love Portland. We live here. Now Turner lives here, too. Why wouldn't everyone else want to be here?"
...It's this that I come back to...
Those that live or have lived here know how beautiful this place is. We all know how players who have been here rave about the place. The organization. The culture.
How do we get this message out with enough clarity to shine a light into the top tiers of FA?
I have spent some time in several places in the United States. I lived for 3½ years in Pueblo/Colo Springs. I spent 3 years in upstate NY. I have lived in various places in the Puget Sound as well as a year in Chicago and LA. About the only place I have not spent any time in is the southwestern/South Central states like Florida, Georgia, LA, Texas, AZ, etc. Furthest south I've made it was Kansas City, Washington DC., Vegas, Pueblo.
When taking a look at all the positives and negatives of the places I have lived and spent time in, it is Portland that wins the Prize. It's just big enough to give you that big city feeling when you want it, but just small enough to live in the country and still be within an hour commute, and often within a half hour, depending on where you are and time of day.
We have a high property tax, but houses aren't the only thing these millionaires are buying. I have heard that players can spend twice as much on the decorations of furniture and automobiles in their garages, as they do on their house. Well hello... No sales tax???
The summers are beautiful and the winters are tolerable. NBA players are on the road half the time anyhow and if they have families, well Portland is a great place for families.
IF you want Hollywood, its a quick hop south of us. We have Nike in our backyard for players to try to get deals with. We have Dame who can provide an inside to adidas, so we have connections to the top two shoe companies in the world.
I/We are not privy to the conversations and meetings that take place among players on the court, locker rooms or during FA period, but I have to believe that IF we are to ever crack the top tier bracket, we have got to market our positives in an incredibly aggressive manner.
This can start subliminally during the season even. With a long term vision I have to believe NO is watching players to see who could be the next target to be our next upgrade. IF he finds him, converse with Dame and potentially CJ. Start the courting during the season in a very under the radar way.
I am not saying this is the key and that the Blazers are not already doing this. With how closet NO likes to be, odds are we will never know the details of the conversations with Parsons or Howard or Turner or Gasol or anyone else he is courting for that matter. I just hope they are using every angle possible and I believe Portland has a lot of secondary angles that, if explained or proposed in the correct manner, can add up to becoming a sizable thought in a FA's head.
Other than not having a huge party scene, having an excess of rain (some places have an excess of snow, like Boston, NY, Cleveland, etc.!!!), and having high property taxes (which I explained can be shown how it is offset with our no sales tax) we have a lot to offer.
People say we are a white city and don't cater to a young black man, but that isn't true. We have a sizable and mixed percentage of Blacks and other races as well. The diversity is just mostly on the east side.
The argument can be said that the players have the money and will not be on the East side, so they will live in white communities. I am sorry, but show me any city with a major sports franchise. Go to the nicest neighborhoods and they will all have a majority of white people. So I do not buy this, "Portland is a white town and a young black man doesn't fit in here". I have lived all over. We aren't much different than most cities our size when it comes to diversity in race and culture. In fact, we probably have a bit more diverse race and cultural environment here than many places. Denver is mostly White and Espanic. Indy is mostly white with a segregated ghetto, etc.
Portland has a decent Asian community, a growing Arabic community a decent Black community, a growing Euro/Russian Community. Yes, we have a growing liberal hipster community, but no city is perfect!!!My point is we are actually quite diverse and not as isolated as some may think.
We also tend to have less segregation within the races in our region than most places back east, making it easier for the minorities to fit in with he majority, without feeling singled out or segregated, etc.
Having traveled a decent amount, I would have to conclude that a young black man with money would probably feel more comfortable here than most other NBA cities with the exception of a few of the major markets like NY, LA, Boston, ETC. Their population alone makes for a diverse environment that Portland cant compete with due to lack of capita.
However, comparable city teams to us, like SA, Sacramento, Utah, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Minnesota, Orlando, Denver, NO, Phoenix should not have a leg up on us. Yes they have things we don't have to offer, but we have things they cant offer. We need to sell this in a Coke/Pepsi taste test style. Not just show what we have to offer but actually compare it to whatever else the FA is looking at and explain why we are so much better.
I still want to put my trust in Neil Olshey, but it would be a hell of alot easier if he would be candid and tell me he did these very things. Then I would know he is doing everything possible. But as long as he keeps things close to the chest, then he will continue to have doubters and growing concerns among his loyalist fans as time goes by and money is spent in glorious fashion for less than glorious players.
The money has to be spent, but if we are going to over spend, I would at least like to know we tried to overspent for the best first before we give it to second and third tier players.
If NO is doing this, then how can we, as a community... a rip city culture!... help this cause to spread the word to the farthest reaches of the sports world????
I'm a fanatic. I can't get enough Blazers. My time is limited in my life with all of my activities, but I try to indulge as much as I can on whatever I can, when it comes to the Blazers. I am on the road for aprox 2 hours a day in my daily commute and that is alot of time to soak in info/discussion of Blazers/local sports. I want to hear more about Ezeli. I want to know all about Turner. I want to hear 15 different people with 15 different viewpoints on how this team will work or wont work next year. Then I want to dissect all these views. Then I want to do it all over again. I'm sure there is at least one or two of you who can relate to this.
I really love this place because I get my fill of opinions. Enough so that often my thoughts have already been captured and there is no need for me to comment, so I just like who I agree with and read the plethora of intelligent, fact-filled posts that so many members are generous enough to spend their time on.
With the departure of Bunker and now Danforth from Rip City Radio, I have been forced to look deeper into the broadcast options for my commute.
As much as I would sometimes become annoyed with the discussions of their personal lives and not focusing on Blazers 24/7, I became very comfortable with The Bunker/Danforth show in the mornings mainly because they came across as genuine fans of the team. Tuning in over last season, I really had come to look forward to that commute and their discussion of the previous nights' games, listening to them dissect it, sometimes bringing up points of view I hadn't thought of. I don't think they were homered out, but they were definitely positive fans.
As many have already pointed out in another thread, unfortunately, Sheldon is not coming across as a homey. He isn't coming across as a local guy who has a vested personal interest in the team. He comes across as a corporate numbers chaser, with an ego the size of Everest and his only real concern for the Blazers is in regards to his career. I could easily be wrong, but on radio, all we can go by is how you sound. With that said, I think he has a great tonal quality about his voice and absolutely has a great radio voice... I just don't think he has a great Blazers voice.
So my morning commute has gone to hell. Since Travis in the afternoons is focused more on College football than local sports now my afternoon commute sucks too. I've become increasingly annoyed with the lack of local/Blazers coverage/discussions on Rip City Radio. I have not explored for any length of time the other channels, because the few times I have, they seemed like national shows and I knew the focus wouldn't be on Oregon or the Blazers.
What do you listen to and do you have any suggestions or know of other stations that might provide more in depth and consistent coverage of the Blazers and Portland/Oregon sports? I mean I'd MUCH rather hear Travis talking about the Hops or the Timbers over USC football....
I would think between Oregon, Oregon State, The Blazers, Hops and Timbers, We should be able to fill a station with local media. And if not, why not regional and toss in the Mariners and Seahawks and (ugh) Huskies football? That would definitely fill up a radio station for content. No?
I personally would love to tune into an all regional or statewide sports radio station.
Edit: I missed one poll option. Mods are you able to add..."I live out of state and range of Oregon Radio."
So I thought I would offer this to the board. Now through 10/18, I have a special 50% off discount on all gear at the employee store.
I thought if anyone would like to take advantage, I would be willing to set up a meeting time where I can get everyone who would like, in. Would need to be a weekend though and not this weekend.
If anyone is interested post it and I will make it happen.![]()
Wow, this thread turned out real nice, didn't it?
There's evidently some people with very thin skins.
so first i wAnt it to be known there is no green font here. Im 100% serious for a moment.
Last nights game.
There was a point where one of the players ended up in the first row and a drink was spilled.
Within three seconds there was a very cool replay and the replay was rewound and played a couple times, giving the spilled liquid a “dancing in the air” feel.
Sure the liquid had to spill and fly through the air just right to keep it cool, but the quickness and creativity from the replay truck was awesome and duly noted by this often critical fan.
@HCP Awesome job on that. I thought it was really cool.
...i dont know how many times ive said publicly to be a mod is impossible to please everyone snd the sly does a great job considering the crap he has to deal with.
Im not pissed or anything. Shit. The world isn't fair. Lol....
Wow, I seldom, if ever, think anyone in here is drunk. I can proclaim that I have never and never will be drunk in here. Am I naive?
I'm fairly positive papag often was. He was an ass during the day, but you can see a way more combative shift after like 7pm.I doubt people are often drunk-posting. I was just saying that, unless you're driving or something, I wasn't putting any judgment on the activity.
