I'm not questioning people's fandom here. This is the ONLY place I go to talk hoops/Blazers and get my fix. Not questioning posters emotional ties. I simply said just don't hold this place up like the holy grail.
This place is nothing more than some random dudes talking. Nothing that gets said on here should be so important that you lose your mind or let it get to you at the level it does. Or so upsets people that they try to affect/effect others livelihoods and go after them and their job. Nobody could post anything on here that would for one split sec make me want to go after them in the real world. Nothing.
That's what I'M talking about.

well for the record i had nothing to do with that and nothing on this forum has ever affected me to that point where i would even think of doing something outside of here. until i heard that someone did so and i was the suspect, i never took anything here as more than forum banter as well. No matter how heated it got.
I never meant for anything like that and never thought anyone here would even think of such a thing cause i thought we were all a Blazers family...
 
If we're such family why don't any of you invite me over for Thanksgiving or at least give me a box of Milk Bones for Christmas?

Do you not think that us Mods are not completely tired of posters attacking each other rather than having conversations. And that happens from both sides. And both sides get told off for it by the mods, and their posts get removed.

OT gets very heated because of politics. I wish some posters could focus more on conversation. It is too much trying to prove each other wrong, or throwing political wins in people's faces, laughing at people getting angry because their beliefs are challenged, playing the game.

I am a moderate Democrat. I am very passionate about my political beliefs. I enjoy arguing politics. I also enjoy having conversation, and that takes listening. I have been doing more of that. I have been reaching across the aisle, trying to have those conversations. I have found agreeance.

More people need to do that more here

That's not moderator bias, though. There are people here who insult liberals or Sanders supporters or Biden supporters. You could see it as an end-around the "no personal attacks" rule, which would be a fair point to raise (and we can discuss that, if it's a concern), but it's not really an example of bias IMO.

Not a concern for me... just saying what I thought OB might be concerned about. I’m not in his head so I could be wrong.

Also, admittedly, didn’t make it thru all the posts before throwing my hands up in the air and wondering what grown ass adults took this THAT serious.

I think there is bias. Im biased, you’re biased, its part of just being human. I think all of the mods, “try” to take a step back when moderating. Lets face it though, if say one of us Mods loves Trump, we think he is amazing, and someone on here says man whoever hates Trump is an absolute moron! We’re not only more likely to agree with a post like that, we’re more likely to either continue a thread going in that direction by piling on, “like a post”, which if you’re one of the people who is “insulted” were now as mods also kinda saying publicly that yes I also think you’re a moron, or be protective of that line of thought because its something we also kind of think.

I dont “moderate” nearly as much as I probably should. I believe a majority on here leans left that there is a forum bias, and that sometimes I think those who lean to the right are cornered into defensive mode because they feel dog-piled on, by a plethora of posts saying, republicans are ‘x’.

I think your post earlier was kind of spot on. Though at some point there are people you’re willing to converse with and others you arent.

When people want to start posts with Trumptards, Repugnicans, Libtards, etc its pretty easy to see that those posts arent looking for a conversation they’re looking to insult people.

Anyways, in terms of Mod bias, sure I sure I have bias’, we all do. It often comes down to intent, is someone deleting modding posts because they simply dont like a poster, their political views etc, and that is bad moderating. Best we can do is try our best to not get wrapped up in our feels when we moderate.

That's my point, though, when I say "moderator bias." I don't mean moderators don't have inherent personal biases as humans--I mean that I haven't noticed biased moderation. We have liberal, moderate and conservative moderators and I haven't seen any of them insert bias into their decisions as moderators. Not that it's impossible that it's happened, but I haven't seen it.
 
Well I figured it wasn't about me since I seldom say anything serious and when I do it's never critical of the mods unless it's intended in good humor.
I just need to know if it's cup or who so I can join in the conversation.
I like cup and I agree with nearly everything he says but I think his replies go too far. I disagree with all kinds of Right wingers but I like to stay on good terms with them. I wish cup were able to do the same. Sometimes you've just got to let people say things and get it off their chest without jumping on them. Everybody needs to get stuff off their chest without too much ruffling of feathers.
I like to think of people as part of my family some of whom have different politics than me. You care about them but you just disagree with their political views.
My stepfather was a Right winger but he had a heart of gold and treated me and my bother very well. When he was in the hospital dying he once told me that he loved me. That meant more than anything to me at that time, two days before he died.
There was a bus driver at the VA hospital who drove me home from my thrice weekly treatments. He was a very strong supporter of Trump and he knew how much I opposed Trump yet we became fast friends. You never met a more friendly person. ABM, he was from Tennessee. We were both overjoyed to see each other. It saddened me to see him transfer to the Vancouver facility to be closer to home but I'm happy to see him closer to his family.
This is what I wish from cup. This would make me happier than anything else that could happen in here. Well, I guess getting a handle on this virus with a vaccine so people could get back to work would make me happier but in the meantime, seeing cup shift his attitude would be more than I could hope for.
We could all help by treating cup as a valued member in here would open his eyes. Yes, we all have that responsibility as well.

I can honestly say that I haven't seen any Conservative moderators in here. I'm not against it, just haven't noticed it.

Platy is a conservative for the most part. Not sure where on the leaning spectrum he lies, but he is a republican. Though I suppose he could answer better himself.

I am definitely a conservative (though not a Trump supporter), and for the most part, I also stay out of the OT area.
