Neil thinks Simons is a better backup point guard than anyone available.

A part of me is happy about how bullish he is on Ant.Neil says we spent 95% of possessions with Dame/CJ at point guard, and Ant is better than any minimum point guard we could sign.

How many "at the end of the day" does Neil throw into every interview? It's his "you know" a la LaMarcus.
He's also right that our model is Dame and CJ at point guard. I don't think it's worth going into repeater territory for someone that may or may not play over Simons.
The level of condescension is madness
I was talking about Neil. He's super patronizing-- it's his thingPeople that act like they're the smartest person in the room are usually wrong.
He always starts responding to questions like someone just insulted his dog.The level of condescension is madness

Wow. This is revealing. Melo coming off the bench was broached before signing.
Melo's mindset is still as a starter but sounds like he will come off the bench.
Olshey thinks Covington starts at the '3'.
Did he say Derrick is starting???!
Really no mention of Whiteside... Neil said we only have 2 players above 6'8" that are healthy... Is Hassan hurt? Not being looked at as being on the team when camp opens?
I mean, that was pretty obvious no? Covington is essentially a much better version of Aminu.Like I said in another thread, I think Terry is going to plug RoCo into the Aminu role.

The surprising thing was DJJ starting.
