I wish. I’m the bridge guy though. So when a bridge needs to be built I usually get a call.

I've done some work at the offices of a bridge contractor in Salem. It's not a huge company, but they do several projects over a 5 year period. I was talking with the owner...2nd floor of his office and we were looking out of the window at his 'yard'. There were 2 huge cranes, 3 smaller ones, excavators, dozers, boom trucks, flatbed trailers, big loaders, a couple of welding trucks. And a couple of acres of trestles, gantry's, 40-60 foot concrete spanners (that must have weighed 70-100 tons. I mentioned to him that he sure seemed to have a lot of equipment. he said that was only about half of what he had. I said he must have had some bucks sunk into that stuff....he said "only about 35M"

I thought: 'I should have charged him more for the remodel'

At least the Beavs are playing an FBS team!

Anyone remember this season-opening game for the Beavs? at Nick-Saban-coached #3 LSU. Derek Anderson at QB. September 4, 2004.

Rookie Alex Serna going 0-3 on extra points (hitting the right upright on the first two), the only extra points he missed for HIS ENTIRE CAREER at OSU. 144-147 for his 4 seasons. Definitely a factor, as the Beavs led 15-7 when LSU scored with 1:06 left in the 4th quarter. Of course the defense just could have stopped the 2-pointer for an OSU win in regulation.

This is the best highlight video I could find, both that is shows all the OSU scores and Serna misses and even though it's interlaced it has the sharpest picture.

I won't spoil the ending by giving the final score.

Take a look at Emeril Lagasse in here

Yeah, the late games suck for getting home with traffic out of Corvallis. I estimate I'll be home around 1:00am.

Edit - I see that HCP is out of town, so I'll be going to NE Portland to see Mrs HCP instead of going home after the game. Post Game Pound Town in NEP!
Ouch!

Can anyone remember a time when we hadn’t announced the starting QB up to kickoff?

The State Farm Megan Trainer commercial is cracking me up.

not much to glean from that game for the Ducks. Too much of a mismatch. MSU's front-7 put no pressure at all on Dante Moore. He wasn't hurried on any play. The Ducks were way bigger on the LOS and that makes a big difference, especially since they were probably quicker too

on defense, Oregon's biggest weakness last season was defending crossing patterns on pass plays, and it still looks like a weakness that opponents can exploit.

not sure how well RB-by-committee will work. Whittington is pretty good but he's not as good as Jordan James, and nowhere as good as Bucky Irving

I thought Davison & Hill looked decent. Their rb room is stocked.

Hughes barely played. It was weird.

Hughes has very good college stats coming in as a Junior. He wont get as many touches on the Ducks.
