I thought Jeff Corwin was full of it when he said it was a raccoon, but then again

You can see the resemblance.
 
the nasal cavaity and teeth in pic #1 do resemble that of the racoon skull....Im trying to picture it with fur, I just cant put the image together in my head
 
It's head reminds me of a pitbull to be honest. I think it's an overweight waterlogged rotten pitbull without hair. Both have thick necks too.

I saw something on history channel where they came to the conclusion that it was a cross-breed between a wolf and...I think a coyote? I don't remember, something like that.
 
A snapping turtle without it's shell?
