Is everyone in here REALLY staying at home??!!

Seriously, nobody is venturing out beyond their property boundaries?

Shit is completely back to normal where I live, with the exception of having to wear masks at a select few businesses. Packed bars and restaurants, live music, whole nine yards. People out here are sick of the narrative changing every other day. If people are worried about corona, they stay home. Most people are out and about though. Seeing friends and neighbors and getting fresh air.

The biggest problem right now is all the people from out of state driving around aimlessly, bumping into things with their cars and trying to buy real estate.

Glad you had a light case and are feeling better, but the guy who's behaviors got him infected with COVID-19 is not the dude I'm taking advice from on recreational activities.
seriously.

I drove 12 hrs each way from the midwest to the east coast to visit my family over july 4th break and we stayed at home the whole time. We limited rest area trips and packed our food. I haven't been anywhere except for home/work/grocery in the past 6 months. And even work, i've only been going in a few times a week because i can't do certain stuff from home. We have avoided seeing all our elderly fam and are taking zero risks unless they are absolutely unavoidable.

Then you have people who actually HAVE it walking around and going to movies like shit's all back to normal. Frustrates me to no end. I was involved in our state/company's testing efforts and saw first hand how people were struggling back in March/April/May. Then seeing family and friends deal with it themselves, just gives me a different perspective.

You'd think a guy who got it because of his stupidity and carelessness wouldn't propagate it and learn his lesson-- guess not.

Stay home and sit tight then. No problemo.

I work with a vulnerable population.

I am thankful every day none of us get this.

This is real. There is no overreaction to a pandemic.

Well put.

Except for my hospital visits I get out of the house about once a week and that's for necessary business such as going to the bank, gas station, grocery store, take out restaurant or wife's medical visits. We sit tight in our house.
My Blazer rep. came over to my house to deliver a bottle of 50 year commemorative wine but she rang the door bell and then talked to me with a mask on from about 20 feet away. We don't even greet the mailman like we use to. Life is way different for us because of my seriously compromised immune system.

I tested positive. However, when the nurse called me this morning, she instructed, "You had already tested positive on August 21st, why are you taking the test again? People shouldn't be doing that. The COVID germ will be in your body for up to 3 months, and you'll continue to test positive up to that point. You are NOT contagious, so feel free to go enjoy that movie, go back to work, do anything you'd like while still following state and local restrictions, if any."

The whole thing is weird.

Shoot, I'm gonna work on somehow tagging along to Las Vegas with @SlyPokerDog where I KNOW I (and everyone else) will be safe!

I'm confused on why she assumed you are not contagious. Whether you are or aren't, I prefer you don't shop at the same grocery store that I do.

I suspect a nurse in a more liberal state would say otherwise

We're ALL probably around a bunch of contagious folks, and carriers, and don't even know it!

Positive but not contagious? A red flag should go up when you hear that.

Red means go, right? GO to the movies, restaurants, work, road trips, parades, family gatherings, etc.?
That's what Trump says his warriors should do. Damn the red flags, full speed ahead.

I will show positive for 3 months. Are you advocating that I close myself in for that entire period?

I would, I have contained myself since mid March. We did go to Buster's BBQ once but we wore masks and maintained a six foot distance until we sat at our table which was about 15 to 20 feet away from anybody else until we put our masks back on and left. That was our only social experience in the last five months unless you want to count our medical procedures as social experiences or bank visits or grocery shopping. No movies, no gym visits, no other restaurant visits, no movies, no greeting anyone at the front door unless masked and at a distance. We are very careful.

And this is why this country has sucked at fighting COVID.

What do you advocate? I mean, really? Why not masks and social distancing when we go out? When I took my trip, I took every precaution. I did. Except once, when having breakfast with my wife and a nurse friend of hers. I swear that's how I got it.

Now? OK, they claim I'm not a carrier, but I will absolutely continue to take every precaution when going out. Going out would consist of a weekly grocery trip, doctor if necessary, a trip here and there to the hair salon, etc. I work from home.

I'll be going to that movie tomorrow.

Oh, and, yeah, sure, I've been poking fun at Sly and his upcoming vacation. But, ya know what? He SHOULD take that trip. And, without any of the razzmatazz from y'all like I received. I'm sure they'll be plenty masked up and all the social distancing measures will be in place.

One person said you shouldn't go on your Utah trip.

http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/have-you-ever-been-to-moab-utah.356723/

That's hardly razzmatazz.

Nah, it's all in fun (except for riverman). I know. I can take the jabs. But, I do want you to know that if and when you take this trip of yours, you'll be pretty much doing the same thing as I did. Riverman was quite pointed when he said now is NOT the time to be taking any trips.

I imagine you'll be flying, staying in a hotel, going to casinos, eating in restaurants, and the like. Correct? I say have fun and be safe!

I'm sorry to hear this but I told you it was a terrible time to go on a vacation ....your answer to my post was....I'm not missing my sister's birthday....hopefully you haven't spread it to others...hopefully you'll contact those you've spent time with and hopefully you'll get through it ok. Two of my granddaughters in California tested positive awhile back and survived it ...they had gone back to work on the advice of Trump....their dad is a Trump fan....man did they regret listening to that liar......now I hope they don't have permanent damage from the infection like shortness of breath, heart disease, etc....Fauci said we don't know the long term effects yet.People need to stay the fuck home until a proven vaccine is available

That's not how this virus works....you are very likely an asymptomatic host at this point...at least get tested again before mingling with the public..better yet...stay the fuck home..see Tom Hanks thoughts on the matter and how he has dealt with the aftermath. You've made one really stupid covid choice recently...why compound it?

I'm not ranting...I'm basically confounded at your lack of sensible choices during this time and disregard for public safety....but glad to hear you'll get tested again...as to watching me rant...don't waste your time...I showed you empathy and your wife.....you just talk alot about nothing pretty much..I don't rant about that...I rant about injustice....you do you

Glad you had a light case and are feeling better, but the guy who's behaviors got him infected with COVID-19 is not the dude I'm taking advice from on recreational activities.

I told you that on this very forum like two months ago. Why didnt you get an actual face mask then?

Have you tried injecting bleach?

The majority of the posts you are quoting are about you wanting to go to the movies very recently AFTER being infected.

Those are very different things.

OK, I stand corrected on razzmatazz.

Every precaution? Did you limit and pay attention to everything you touched? Did you wash your hands enough? Did you touch surfaces(arm rests), magazines, etc and maybe not think about it carrying covid? Its not just transmitted person to person. A mask is great but it's not every precaution, neither staying away from others. There is more needed to do to stay clear of the virus, especially if you are traveling.

Hopefully, Sly takes all these precautions and is safe. It is a gamble to travel right now, whoever does it.

Cat got your tongue, dawg? Heh, you're avoiding these simple questions like the plague. Er, wait.
