I just saw Krampus and loved it, definitely the best Christmas horror comedy I've ever seen. It was funny throughout and the monsters were done almost entirely with practical effects (you'll realize what small part had to be done with CGI). I don't really get scared watching movies so I can't comment much on that but the atmosphere of the movie was fantastic because of the Christmas setting and great sound design. I got goosebumps at the end. Recommended to anyone who likes a good horror comedy. B+

Just saw that Saturday. It started a bit slow for me but it was pretty entertaining once it got going.

I saw tonight at the Hollywood theater "Entertainment" starring Greg Turkington of Neil Hamburger fame. If you like the Neil Hamburger character you'll probably like it.
Surprised they released that given how badly he botched Dekker.

I saw Fury Road the other week and really enjoyed it. I know--late to the party on that one.

I watched Hunger Games: Mocking Jay part 2 last night and enjoyed it.

The originals are hilarious to watch. Love that series

I thought Ant Man was the best Marvel movie since Guardians of the Galaxy, although that isn't hard to do with me because I'm completely done with the Avengers.

I'm a bit over them as well, but they are all pretty good movies. I'll definitely go back and watch the ones I haven't seen at some point (Age of Ultron, Ant Man)

Guardians of the Galaxy was great though. I think that is probably my favorite of them all.

Yeah, they are entertaining movies, I usually breakdown and go see them in a second run theater eventually. I'm just talking shit. I waited a long time to go see Antman, and it ended up being one of the best ones in a while. All those fuckin' x-men movies wore me out. There were so many of them I lost track of which ones I had seen or hadn't seen.

Have you seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier? I need to rewatch it to see what I really think but I liked it a lot when I first saw it. I enjoyed Guardians as well but it was kinda boring when I rewatched it. It wasn't as funny the second time around and I realized how terrible the villain was. I'm an unashamed Superman fanboy so I'm pumped as fuck for Batman v Superman. I've read a lot of comics and I've always liked DC more than Marvel, plus I'm just tired of the constant quips in Marvel movies. I think the reason I liked The Winter Soldier so much is because it was the most serious and Civil War looks like it will be good for the same reason. Age of Ultron was terrible in my opinion and Ant Man could have been good if they kept Edgar Wright on as the director.

Midnight Run (best movie EVER), Little Big Soldier, The Boxtrolls, Real Men, The Hobbit trilogy (not all at once), Ironclad, Tremors 5, Hector and the Search for Happiness, Hot Fuzz.

Don't bother with: Dungeons & Dragons, Darkman, Doom.

Ironclad!

As long as they are not blockbusters or remakes... or sequels, it's usually good.

The Revenant was filmed here (Calgary & area) so I'm looking forward to spotting locations when I see it. The Fargo TV series has also been filmed here recently.

I guess The Revenant had to pick up and head down to South America to finish some scenes because it just wasn't cold enough here.

I can't wait for The Revenant. Looks amazing.

I've heard/read that it has some of the best cinematography ever and they only used natural lighting. I haven't seen a ton of praise for the story of the movie but I'm still excited to see how fantastic it looks and sounds in a theater.

The Longest Ride

It's a really good chick flick with enough other stuff thrown in to make it interesting for us guys. If your woman is wanting to watch something that doesn't have explosions, car chases, and gun fights then this is a good choice.

7.1 on the IMDB
8.5 on the Sly

The Martian.

Excellent, well done scifi movie.

Only criticism was the pointless Chinese coming to the rescue subplot. This is the future of movies, add something Chinese friendly so it will make $$$$ in China.

Was that in the book?

But don't Chinese women hold up half the sky?

They had to redo that Red Dawn remake after it was already completed to remove Chinese soldiers and turn them into N. Koreans.

On Utube::::::::::: For great FREE entertainment and a view of the 1940's including snappy acting, fashion and cars watch Micheal Shayne detective series starring Lloyd Nolan. He is a good actor worth your opinion.

Yep, I saw that one in theaters and really enjoyed it. Not super hyped for batman vs superman, although I enjoyed man of steel. I'll probably wait for that to come to blu Ray unless it is getting amazing reviews.
