Fates Warning just did a 30th anniversary concert for their best album "Awaken the Guardian":

RIP MCA - He passed away 5 years ago today, on the 4th of May

Holy Shit. The Doors are in my top 10. We had tickets to see them in October 1969 but Morrison revealed too much of himself and Mayor Rizzo from Philly had the concert cancelled. They were replaced by Jetho Tull.

Ynwie Malmsteen.> CAN PLAY!!!

I hate that guy. He made technical prowess about his ego. Wearing poofy silk shirts over his pot belly and an ugly guitar with scalloped frets so he can circle pick into infinity. Technical prowess doesn't mean jack if you lose what it means to be a musician. His own band mates brought Shawn Lane to his concert to embarrass him.
Don't get me wrong. I know people who would give their right arm for a lessons with him but he's probably too busy driving those ugly sports cars he drives. Give me Jeff Loomis or Buckethead any day of the week.

Edit. Speaking of Metal.... anybody into Death Metal? A friend from Florida got me into the great Death Metal Bands from the area like the late great Chuck Schuldiner and Death. Those guys had a technical prowess and musicianship that was just amazing!

Buckethead. That cracks me up. He should try to get an endorsement with rubbermaid

My heart lives in hip-hop, the beats pump the blood through my veins. But that's not the only music I love.

Enya is a fucking goddess, what an amazing voice.

"Myself, Lord and master shall bring disaster to evil factors. Demonic chapters shall be captured by Kings"

"Above the crowds, above the clouds where the sounds are original, infinite skills create miracles. Warrior spiritual, above the clouds raining down, holding it down"

Was at the gas station filling up today listening to this song and my man says "That's one of the best albums ever", I said to him "for sure". I've always connected with people on a different level, I knew this dude was a great guy, I had tons of respect for him even though I didn't know his name and had never seen him before.

Shout out to the dude with the great taste in music who enjoyed what I was bumping when I pulled up. I've got a ton of respect for those who seek to make the short term encounters which would otherwise be meaningless become meaningful through simple acts of kindness. Next time you appreciate something about some one speak up. Even if it's telling that person sitting across from you on the bus that you love their T-Shirt. Never underestimate how big an impact you can make with something you may perceive as minuscule.

Perhaps the greatest song birthed from the Guru & Premier collaboration.

"They say it's lonely at the top, in whatever you do"

Saw Primus last night at Red Rocks in Denver. Holy shit, what a show! Me amd the old lady snuck down to the front row towards the end, just in time for frizzle fry and southbound pachyderm. It was crazy good!

I'm a huge fan of Keith Harkin, and I just found this song of his early this morning. It reminds me of the song "Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt.

Makes me cry. I can't stop listening to it.

[Verse 1]
September sessions runnin’ through my mind
You know what it is that I can’t find
I’m sittin’ here so sad, alone
Nothin’ else but water, feels like home
When I’m with you, I feel so alive
My heart, it burns out, I am deprived

[Chorus]
Salt water runnin’ through my veins
With my friend, Dody, here
Oh, and the rain falls soft on my skin
And the pain washes away like nothin’
And I, and I feel alive, oh, once again
I am at home, I found my friend
My friend

[Verse 2]
Sacrifice, early mornin’ rise for you
My heart is broken, well, my back
Well, it’s torn in two
For somethin’ you and I both know I’m due
The water and me, well, we just ain’t through
See the sun, how it warms my broken back
When he’s around with the water, well
I enjoy the crack of

[Chorus]
Salt water runnin’ through my veins
With my friend, Dody, here
Oh, and the rain falls soft on my skin
And the pain washes away like nothin’
And I, I feel alive, oh, once again
I am at home, I found my friend
My friend

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh

[Outro]
The rain falls so soft on my skin
And the pain washes away like nothin’
And I, and I feel alive, oh, once again
I am at home, I found my friend
I found my friend
I found my friend
I found my friend
My friend
My friend
