I use to hear these kind of songs in Vietnam sung and played by Filipino groups what were remarkably good. We use to go crazy listening to American and British music.
I'm trying to remember our favorite which had to do with how wonderful it was to be coming home. Man those Filipino male singers had such deep voices and they could really belt that one out.

Here is a violin piece played at my wedding very nearly 40 years ago.

Beethoven - Violin Romance No. 2

I cant remember if I posted about them, but if you havent yet, check out "A gallant gentleman" by We Lost The Sea.

Then check out all the departure songs. You'll thank me later.

The Rays - Silhouettes
Take a walk down memory lane.

Otis Redding - Sitting on the dock of the bay
This was the no. 1 song while I was in Vietnam in 1968. Everybody who had an Akai tape recorder was playing this song in every hootch everywhere I went.

My good friend and I have taken up collecting vinyl over the last 5 years or so. This summer he pulled this record out of a box at a garage sale. Probably payed $1 for it. I almost kneecapped him and ran off with it but better taste prevailed.

Pink Floyd - Time

They played this, from the 43 second mark until about the 2:30 mark, on some science show (Nova?) as they flew a helicopter along the entire length of the Stanford Linear Accelerator. It was so cool.

One of my grandma's favorites and one of mine as well. Thanks for sharing, buddy!

I guess if you listen to Chali 2na’s solo stuff I don’t need to tell you to check out Jurassic 5?

Ummmm....

That song was on the closing credits of last week's episode of Silicon Valley. I heard it and liked it. Now I'll have to listen to Jurassic 5.

Thanks!
