This has such memories for me ....I remember buying it on vinyl the day it came out and basking in it....best rock bass playing ever
me too. owned it in all media forms from 8-track to reel to reel. the reel to reel came about cause my brother in law bought a high end quaraphonic unit off ebay a few years back. i bid and won a quad reel to reel tape of quadraphenia soon after in an auction.
i haven't gotten to enjoy that version long time as they moved to North Carolina from Oregon bout 8 years back.

I've always enjoyed Steely Dan's music. While mainly studio musicians, they also performed some nice concerts. I've been to a couple of them. My brother-in-law and I recently went and saw Donald Fagen perform at the Schermerhorn in downtown Nashville (beautifully luscious venue!) and he couldn't stop ranting how streaming services such as Spotify are killing artist revenues. (When was the last time you purchased a new cd?). Therefore, many are back to touring to make ends meet, so to speak.

Anyway, I've always enjoyed this song...and the Aja album as a whole. PS: Michael McDonald provided backup vocals on many of their songs, including this one.

here ya go....

I took my wife to see Smokey at the Schnitz and few years ago on Valentine’s Day. 75 years old and fighting a bad case of the flu and the man still brought it big time. Wonderful show. And He looks just the same as he did in the ‘60’s. Can’t beat a classic baby face coupled with a helluva voice......
