pisses me off.

I like the kid. He's 18 and I have known him since he was 6. But the stupid fkr left a bong in my sons car in the backseat. Sheesh, if he gets pulled over and the cops look in there he is totally screwed. I threw that fkn thing in the dumpster and he's pissed. I don't care. Screw him. He's an idiot. He got all fkn uppity about it last night and kept calling and texting my son and fighting with him. Somehow he has the idea that by riding in my sons car (my car) he is doing us some kind of favor.

Actually, he has Assburgers Syndrome... but thats really not an excuse. But it does make dealing with him a bit more challenging at times.

Those guys hang at my place after school and hit the pipes sometimes and I don't care as long as they are safe and smart about it. I know I really can't prevent them from doing it so I want them to learn to do what adults HAVE to do when they party..... which is be safe and smart.

Its my friends bong ain't gonna cut it as an excuse if he gets pulled over. Now I find out this kid has been pressuring my son to give him the keys to the van so he and other kids can go smoke out in it while they are at school....and they've been giving him a hard time about saying no.

Makes me want to strangle him. My son stays away from that stuff during wrestling season because he will get kicked off the team for four weeks if caught. This is his senior year and he is returning city champion and state placer and is planning on a big year.

All these other guys care about is indulging themselves and entertaining themselves.

Blah.

Anyway.... next time that fkr comes over to my house he is catching an earful.

Let them know if they do illegal drugs at your home, you're calling the police. Also, have your son drug-tested on a regular basis. Finally, sit down with all the parents and let them know the situation.

I think the model you set for them is smart. IMO the worst thing a parent could do is act like they have never done any partying/illegal activities in their life. Its obviously BS and just pisses the kid off more.

Having them (at least your son) learn that there is a time and a place is key. Sure go ahead and smoke pot here and there...just dont be in public or driving, or letting a stoned friend drive.

Tell your sons friend straight out "Dont be a fucking idiot" and explain how he is just begging to get caught and have his name "put in the system". Also tell him to go fuck himself about using the van since it will be you paying the impound fees and your son being busted even if he wasnt there but because he knew what was happening and aided it. With crap like that it just screams that the kid has no real respect for your son or he wouldnt put him in that shitty situation.

Tell him he should be thanking you for breaking his bong! Now he realizes what happens when you get busted with pot and bongs in your car but he was lucky enough to learn the lesson without being busted by the cops. Tell him with the $250 fine he could have had he can go out and buy a new bong and maybe not be an idiot next time.

Agreed. I've been through this situation. My parents drug tested me, told on a few of my friends. Now I live in the UK, with my dad, and I'm pretty much a high school drop out - All over a harmless plant.

I wish you were my dad, Trout, although I like my current dad and all. Don't be too harsh on your son's friend, he'll take it to heart - Trust me.
