essentially,
nets trade kidd, allen, and armstrong, receive about 20 million in expiring deals and rashad mccants (promising young shooter who will be inexpensive for the next couple years), plus maybe a first rounder from dallas or a protected future number one from minnesota
williams, (fa)
carter, mccants, wright
jefferson, nachbar
williams, diop
boone, krstic, magliore
dallas trades harris, stackhouse, diop, george, jones, and ager (and possibly a pick) and receives kidd, allen, armstrong, and gerald green. the obvious result is acquiring kidd, and the loss of stackhouse is mitigated by gerald green, who can replace most of his scoring off the bench. they give up a lot of bodies but retain their depth. of course, this would be even better if it accompanies a carter trade, allowing the nets to truly go young.
kidd, barea
terry, green
howard, hassell
nowitski, bass
dampier, juwan howard
and finally, minnesota trades ratliff, doleac, mccants, and green for devin harris, stackhouse, and ager, thus giving up only mccants and green, who wasn't playing anyway, for harris, who would give the team a considerable upgrade at point guard, where their only prospect is sebastian telfair. this allows foye to move over to 2 guard where he is a better fit. stackhouse can either mentor the young players or be waived/bought out.
harris, telfair
foye, jaric
stackhouse, brewer
gomes, walker
jefferson, smith
to me, this seems far better than the three way scenarios with portland. i'd rather pick up mccants than jack or outlaw or frye, and the blazers had to give up too much of their depth to acquire harris.
