At no point did I say stealing was fine, did I? Multiple times, I've stated that if true, what they did was wrong, greedy, and deserves punishment. To imply otherwise is poor form.

I just said that I don’t think stealing $20 from someone and it might be .02% of their savings isn’t the same as going and stealing &200m from Amazon. It’s a bit more severe of a crime. Meaning, I don’t care what the NBA is worth. If they walked into someone’s house and took 200,000, they should be punished whether that person is worth 1m or 1b

Fair opinion. Not one I share, but I get the logic.

Again, let me restate: I do not think it's ok to steal $4m from anyone and I do think there should be a punishment for it.

Strawman. There are no Patterson apologists. He's universally panned.

But Martha Stewart going to prison certainly showed many people the risks of insider trading, I'm all for that.

This being a high profile case again warrants possible prison time for those convicted.

But even if it was people that are not high profile, I'm all for white collar crimes having some cases where prison sentences are possible.

Federal Prisons can be like country clubs. Im sure if there is time served it will be a federal prison as mail fraud is a federal offense and felony.
 
Domestic workers have been subjected to sexual abuse by males of the household since forever. And always their fault. Temptresses. Enslaved women were raped by master and then whipped by mistress.
Read this literally while watching Anita Hill on TV talking about how allegations of sexual assault are dismissed and downplayed.

I would want restitution and then for them to be in counseling and closely supervised and forced to contribute to society in a probation system. Revenge is a fools game, punishment is revenge. I want justice and then I want people to do better. We think caging people is a smart response to shit like this but it could not be more counterproductive.

It’s not revenge. It’s a deterrent. Put these people in jail and others will think twice before doing it.

Interesting story. I'm not sure how it relates to medical insurance fraud.
