Thought I'd throw a name out there to keep this discussion fresh: Kyle Singler.
My thought on him is that he very likely will be available at the end of the 1st round (easiest picks to purchase -- I'm not advocating us using OUR pick on him, but if we can get him for cash) and seems like he would be a terrific glue guy off the bench at the 3. Throw in the local guy ties and his all-out hustle, do-everything type of game (reminds me of a less athletic Jerome Kersey, also compared to Kiki V - 2 beloved former Blazers - he plays the type of ball that Blazer fans love)
With Crash now our starting 3, I think drafting Singler would allow us to turn Batum into a moveable asset either for a young PG or a more reliable C option while Singler and Babbit fight over the backup 3 minutes - also allows Claver to develop abroad and (ideally) turn into our next Batum when Crash is ready to retire/move on...
Thoughts? It wouldn't be a sexy move, but one that could provide us with some flexibility from a roster standpoint, and one that likely, the fans would embrace on the court...
