Boston decided to start playing now? Totally different team in the second half of the close out game.

The Euro's are taught very sound basketball fundamentals, thats why guys like Joker & Doncic are so effective even if they are not real quick or athletically gifted jumpers. Their ball handling, shooting, passing and post positioning are superb, even if they can't jump.

If Brown is actually a possibility for us, we really need this series to end quickly. But I think they win 5 game as well. Then all the pressure will be on the Heat not to choke in game 6 at home.

Yeah I think the Heat being the lower seed without HCA made their 3-0 lead less dominant then is normally the case with the higher seed.

Boston probably will be favored at home in game 5. If they pull off that win then suddenly its an enormous amount of pressure on the Heat.

Ultimately if Boston offers Brown 5 years $295 million supermax I think he stays. There is talk Boston might not offer that, as then when Tatum also gets the same extension they will have a lot of trouble filling out the roster with two players on supermax deals with the new luxury tax limits.

If Boston doesn't offer $295 - I can see Brown willing to force his way to other teams for their $250 million max, even if Boston is offering a bit more such as $270. Plus the bad blood from Brown being offered in trades for Durant. If Boston makes this series competitive yeah probably increases the chance they offer the supermax $295.

Heat Game 7 is at home in game 6. They lose that then it’s Over for them

Brown is only a possibility if he wants out. There's no way Boston would willingly break up a young core that's already been to the finals and conference finals multiple times.

And is Brown really worth $250 million for 5 years?

The GM will have to offer whatever it takes to keep Brown, or he might as well tar and feather himself and ride a horse out of town. Otherwise, the fans will do it for him.

Depends what you mean by worth. These guys play a game for entertainment, none of them are worth a $10 dinner if your poor and hungry.

The salary cap is supposed going way over $150+ million and luxury tax cap will exceed $200 million so then this $50 million per year doesn't sound as detrimental. If you have some rookie contracts, good value role players, and only one other highly paid star, owners willing to pay some tax a few years, then yes it may be totally fine.

If the team doesn't have those, can't contend, or Brown gets a big injury then his contract could be a big problem.

It's not just the GM. Owners might say they have to cut payroll to get out of the tax. Brown might demand a trade as Grant and many stars have done.

OT: Portland need a Hockey Team. This playoffs are fun to watch. Why is there a hockey team from Florida and not in Portland?

Brogdon, White and Smart will combine for $59 million next season. Are they going to keep those guys and trade Brown?

Of course if Brown wants a trade, that's totally different.

If they trade Brown and his pending 250-295 million yes they can keep all 3 of those guys and have money to spare.

Jaylen Brown is perfect for Dame and the Blazers

Looks like Boston with their 20 point lead is pushing this to a game 6 in Miami. Will have all the pressure on the Heat to close out at home, otherwise they risk going on the road to try and prevent the first 0-3 collapse in what 150 different playoff series?

If this goes to game 7 or the Celtics become the first ever 0-3 winner I think the Brown to Portland idea is probably dead. Heck just with them pushing this to a game 6 it might already be dead.

Kind of thought Boston would play like that from the beginning of the series?

Nah they have to win out. going to 6 doesnt matter.

Down 2-3 the Celtics beat the Bucks on the road last year and the Sixers this year. They’re mentally tough. Good luck Miami

Now I'm rooting for the Celtics. I want to see history.
I also believe they are the better team to go against the Nuggets.

Let’s go Heat!

I wanted Adebayo in that draft. Still think he would have led to more success than Nurk has. Nothing against Nurk. Just think a Turner/Adebayo would work better alongside Dame. Granted, I’m surprised it didn’t work out with Whiteside.

It is history either way. When is the last time an 8th seed made the NBA Finals? All things considered, I'll root for the underdog, and Celtics have a huge talent advantage. Go Miami.
