Both these teams tonight look a lot better than LA and MN last night.

God look at SGA complete no show. If it was against us he would shoot every single time down the floor

CJ completely sucks. I bet Pelicans already regret that trade
He scored over 400 more points than any other Pelican this year and they got him for next to nothing.

I'm sure they regret it. Yep.

What the hell. Brandon Ingram is unstoppable, so the Pelicans call CJ McCollum’s number? LOL.

OKC doing this while being substantially younger than us.

and our entire org blamed this season on youth. idiots.
OKC's done such a good job of flipping veterans and drafting well... if Holmgren turns out to be much of anything, they'll be in remarkable shape.

CJ's playoff streak comes to an end
It happens every season. Some team is a feel-good story and there’s nowhere to go but up.
Then that team loses in the play-in to the following season’s feel-good story.

The only way OKC could have lost with 3 seconds and a 4-point lead was to foul a 3 pt shooter....and they came 1 inch away from doing so. Why was Dort even close to him?

they also have a terrific coach. and listen to shai... they built good habits over the years.

we have a terrible coach and have nothing to hang our hat on as far as habits while tanking.

some, yes.

to a man, they all said we had too many young guys in their exit interviews.

That's still a true statement. It's not like OKC beat a team with a pulse tonight - Portland was 1-0 against the Pelicans before tanking.

unusual in that both of the teams tonight I was kind of rooting for won. Usually that's the kiss of death.

Actually, I was as much rooing against the teams that lost as rooting for the teams that won. Toronto Raptor fans are really hard to take. And I got tired of people talking about how great the Pelicans were going to be. I never bought that

as mentioned, I think there is an object lesson in that OKC-Pels game tonight. OKC started 2 rookies and a 2nd year player tonight. Giddey was a 6th pick less than 2 years ago and he came with one rebound of having a 31 point triple-double in his first playoff game. He's not a great shooter but he averaged 17-8-6 this year. The lesson for Portland is that it's entirely possible to find win-now help in the draft, especially in the top-6 or top-7. The Blazers better be damn sure they are trading for an all-star level player if they give up their pick. And I don't mean a player who made one all-star game or made one 4 years ago

I'd draw the line at a player like Siakam. OG is not worth a top pick IMO

Siakam would be nice. But if I were Toronto I would pair him with Barnes and trade OG.

I think time’s up. Keep Barnes and clean house. Siakam is their biggest chip. Trade him for some good young pieces like Simons and the lotto pick and move the timeline.

You kind of gotta wonder why this guy was not playing tonight?

Agree on Siakam and OG. I would take either but OG is not worth our pick. Nor is Butler IMO not when you have to include
Ant and others to match. I would however like to see Boston crash and burn so that Brown possibly becomes available.

Would you trade Simons and Sharpe for Siakam?

90% chance that lottery pick is going to be 1-7. Sharpe was the 7th pick.

Stay off twitter if you don't want to see CJ regret takes all over.

As for the franchise. I doubt the Pels are too upset about having CJ, even though they know they'll never win a title with him. I'm sure some of their fans are saying that if you can't win a title with him, you have to trade him and rebuild though.

I thought they blamed it on injuries.
That's what I heard as well.

I thought that they said they don't feel going younger is the path to being more competitive in the next couple years. That makes perfect sense to me. Of the 9 youngest teams in the league, only one got an automatic birth to the playoffs.

Sharpe goes nowhere. Comparing the 7th pick from one draft to another is apples and oranges. If they see a prospect they think can be as good as Sharpe then great, if they can’t then they need to get the best player to put next to Dame. Siakam would be a great get.

??

I think the rule for players is they can't speak to another player about that other player joining the first player's team. In other words, it's a rule that get violated quite a few times during the all-star break, and probably hundreds of times each summer

SAS carefully asked him “who his favorite players were.” Dame listed both Bridges and Embiid.

Bro, you have to start thinking BEFORE you pound your keyboard.

CJ did just shoot the lowest % of anyone on his team as they lost to the puppy Thunder. All those vets lost at home to the young'ens. While the Thunder backcourt was pouring in 63 points, CJ was bricking away at a 33% clip while playing zero defense. CJ doesn't suck, but he also doesn't play winning basketball either.
