I'm thinking it's less and less likely the NBA can salvage this season. By about every projection by every expert, this pandemic is going to be much worse in june and july than it is now. The league office might need to start thinking about what happens next season if there isn't a vaccine yet

Nets' Kevin Durant Says He Tested Positive for the Coronavirus, Feels Fine

Cj is annoying though. He needs to stop telling other people what they have to do or should do. Nobody needs his advices
Oh you mean.. like what you just did?

telling CJ what he should and should not do?

CJ doesn’t need your advice so this is... rich.

even when games aren’t being played, you still find a way to bag on CJ

It almost seems... personal.

China reports 13 new cases.

That is what is going to kill the rest of the NBA season.

They had the strictest quarantines of any country in the world, once the quarantine was lifted the virus is coming back.
Oh my God. They just said that the next step is that we won't be able to leave our house except to buy groceries or walk the dog and there will be a required distance of 6 feet from other people.

Its self-inflicted wounds and deaths at some point. If people cant leave their house, they cant produce food, they cant supply food, there will no groceries to buy. So saying you can go buy groceries, really? From who?

Well yeah that is the road we go down if this continues, no question. Soup kitchens soon.

Coronavirus: Wuhan doctors celebrate closure of last temporary hospital after dramatic fall in cases in China

Since there are still new cases, perhaps what is happening in China is that they believe infrastructure in place can deal with those new cases, that they are past an explosion in new cases. Which I think is the big fear in the USA , the inability to deal with a huge simultaneous increase in cases.

If it's only 13 then it's good news. It cannot go away entirely, but 13 out of 1.4 billion is really nothing. At one point it was thousands every day, if you check the graph (https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/china/) it certainly seems under control. If it is real stats of course.

So I have family and friends in China. Things are getting better there (cities outside of Wuhan anyway), less restrictions, more people going back to work, but not everything is up and running again. The mood and optimism of the people is definitely changing and the sentiment is things are getting better.

I'd also be pretty skeptical about any reports coming out of China. Have to see how that plays out over time. But it's possible that China was able to lock down the virus in Wuhan Province using measures we'd have to suspend the constitution to approach. Besides that, it's all over the USA by now and even China is able to test at many times the rate as we are.

Deaths in the United States jumped 10% in one day.

the importance of social distancing, even if you aren't "sick":

"A study published Monday by the American Association for the Advancement of Science found that asymptomatic people or people whose symptoms were so mild they didn’t realize they were infected were a major driver of the disease from its epicenter in Wuhan, China, to the rest of the world.

The study found that this group of roving people -- whose infections were never diagnosed -- were responsible for spreading the disease to 79 percent of the people who were diagnosed in China.

The study concluded that this massive category of people will make containing COVID-19 “particularly challenging” and will require governments to radically increase testing and isolation of these people

Thing is I don't think every American is going to follow the social distancing and the 10 & under rule. There are so many young, middle age people out there that think they are bulletproof.
And it only takes a few.

If you've looked at the mathematical curve-flattening models, you should understand that they account for the assumption of some not adhering to the social distancing guidelines.

Fair enough. We'll cee in a couple of weeks when people get board and want to get out if there still following the rules.
