Man, MARIS61, do yourself a favor and stop pretending that sunshine and fresh air are going to keep you healthy through this. Maybe this is being hyped too much and will all blow over in a couple of months, but that's not what's playing out around the world. It's likely that up to 70% of the people in this country are going to get sick. If even 10% get seriously ill and 1% die, that's going to be a hit on us unlike anything we've seen in our lifetime. 9/11, the Vietnam War, Iraq War, & Afghan War won't total but a drop in the bucket compared to the loss of life we're likely to see.

So far, a mere 50 Americans have required hospitalization.

Fake News Media hysteria is the only problem here.

Jesus Christ.

Let me make this more simple.

If it’s less than 2 percent, I DON’T GIVE A FUCK.

Why?

Because 98/100 times... it will be a bad flu, per the symptoms reported.

The “actual” flu is like 99.98 out of 100 times.
Obviously the stats are different.

But is 98/100 times 2% or less?
Yup.

So, not worried, because VERY UNLIKELY I WILL EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS WORSE THAN A BAD FLU, just like the other 98/100 people younger than 60.

Got it?

And for the bold; Yeah, for risk assessment, I’m saying there isn’t a lot of impact because it’s still less than 2% of the ENTIRE population.

You know how *unlucky* you have to be to be part of that 2%? Pretty fucking unlucky.

Are you gonna not vaccinate your kids because there’s a 5% chance they become autistic?

Not gonna drive because you might die?

not fly?

answer those questions then get back to me about my 2% rule.

you’re acting as if the 98% of the time that the symptoms are “like a bad flu” or NOT EVEN PRESENT is the exception, rather than the rule.

The exception is the 2% for whom it is much worse than the flu.

IMHO this has to be one of the most self centered and selfish responses I have ever seen.

Uh, sure. You apparently are ignoring how epidemics work. We're at the front end of an exponential growth pattern. Here's one epidemiologist's estimation for the US:

Natural selection at work. Oh wait, y'all prolly reject that too.

Population control....

Sometimes it is needed and happens... check history.

Now stop buying all the damn TP!

Gobert thought it was an overreaction too and then he got coronavirus

Let him think whatever nonsense he needs to to get his jollies. prolly better for all of us in the longterm for Darwinism to do its thing

The NBL are playing their Finals without fans. Andrew Bogut plays for Sydney whom beat Perth today. I think the winner takes all game is tomorrow.

I heard one health expert say that we should want the kids IN school. We can't afford to have doctors and nurses missing work because their kids are home.

One of the reasons is staff are getting sick. Even though kids are less likely to get it, they are carriers. Adults get it. Three staff members at my school were sent home today because they were sick. We are too short staffed and things are getting worse.

PPS is at least working to have pick up spots for breakfast and lunches for low income students.

It looks like this news broke yesterday, but I don’t recall seeing anything about it posted here.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported Thursday afternoon that the league would be requiring players to remain in their team’s home market, requesting that players remain at home as long as possible, asking team physicians and trainers to speak to every player once a day and banning group workouts and practices.

Melo must feel like he’s quarantined in Podunkville.

Probably the wrong time to say this, but what a statement on the income disparity between the players and the "hired help" that he (on a ROOKIE contract) can cover hundreds of people's salary for a month.
On the contrary, what an amazing thing Zion to do when he probably hasn’t yet earned a $1 million after commissions and taxes. This is very generous of him.

Isn't he making $10+ Million a year for his shoe endorsement alone?
